Food lovely - price dreadful!

I wish I'd read the reviews before we visited this restaurant! We love eating fish and were intrigued that we were taken through the kitchen (spotless) to check out what fish was on offer when we arrived. There were no menus (should have heard the alarm bells clanging ...) and so when the maitre... read more

Here you can enjoy the best grilled fresh fish in the island. We tried quite a few and only Boukaris in the south, and Bruno are as good. The surroundings are far from idyllic, the restaurant is situated by the main road of Kontokali village, and it can be a bit pricey (but fresh fish is expensive even in the market... More

This restaurant flirts with some serious fiscal problems, hope the greek authorities (if they are not close friends of the "historic owners" of this taverna) will get them before summer. They bring you no menu (only on request) and offer you random dishes which sound good and then you discover that are ridiculously expensive, small portioned, and surely not exceptional.... More

This small family run fish taverna, might not have the ideal settings, might not be very cheap, may even not have the best of service, but you know you're getting fresh fish, you realise that they know how to grill their fish to perfection, you get the family treatment, you're treated with respect and in the end you leave satisfied... Under no circumstances try this. At nearly 100 euros for one fish between two to sit at a roadside they must be having a laugh! Never busy - not surprising, no idea how they survive. Please, no matter how hungry you are don't stop here

i can keep this short and fair: I had, in fact, heard that this restaurant was alarmingly pricey for this neck of island and surrounded by such reasonably priced restaurants, to boot. One opinion I was given that it gave London West End prices a run for their, literally, money. I didn't believe them, such a cosy looking and unpretentious-seeming... More

I must say I totally agree with previous reviews. While the food is good the prices are totally out of proportion. You need to take out a second mortgage to pay. I, personally would not rush back to eat here.

We were recommended to this restaurant by the people we were staying with as a good fish restaurant. We were never shown a menu and from another review it would seem they do not have one! We had a starter, salad and 1 fish between us for our main we also had a half carafe of wine each and a... More

Abit pricey and the atmosphere is a bit basic, but great quality and some of the best seafood we've ever had!
