tasty fresh food and a quirky setting

food was good and decor fun. this is not a completely veggie place - the specials on the night we ate there were both meat but perhaps a result of visiting family members our accommodation suggested nwhen we discussed all our restaurant visits on way to airport. It wasn't a problem for us - we had... read more

This is a little outside town but well worth the trip! We had amazing wine, a delicious cheese plate, the best salad we had on the island, good bread, two delicious pasta dishes, and a coconut cookie and yogurt dessert. All are highly reccomended. One of the largest menus we saw in Faja Grande. It seems like they cook with... More

Only 4 restaurants to choose from in the village so it had to be done. Nice place, pleasant cosy atmosphere, good wine and service..... but the food a complete ripoff. I chose the "spicy" pasta, as this is supposed to be a vegetarian restaurant one would expect a nice tasty vegetable sauce with tomatoes, onions, peppers, maybe a bit of... More

Organic vegetables put together to make delightful meals. I think the menu is creative and diverse for such a small place. My husband and I loved everything we ate and drank. For the people who say this place is overpriced: this is not a charity! Of course they could make pre-preared frozen food and that would bring the prices down,... More

Great atmosphere with a very charming music. The chef Monica does everything by herself and she's really great! I keep going there year after year, the menu changes but the quality is always the top!

We walked up to the Vigia da Baleia and decided to lunch here on the way back... We enjoyed it so much that we came back for the following two nights and always had different dishes and desserts and we loved all of them. The owner is another Italian, very nice person. The selection of the house as an entree... More

Really nice place, with mostly vegetarian cuisine made with fresh ingredients! I went there for dinner with my partner and we both really enjoyed the food, the place and the service! The owner is a really nice lady from Italy (like us) and it has been really nice talking to her. I really recommend it!

The only restaurant in the Azores where you can eat some healthy and vegetarian food! Sometimes you can get also meat or fish, it depends if any cow has been recently killed or any fisherman went to catch any fish, but for sure you won't get any frozen food! The menu include also some oriental dishes, we where very happy... More

The restaurant is owned by an Italian lady but the food is far far away from Italian standards. It is mainly a vegetarian restaurant (so if you are vegetarian you may like it) but my low rating is not related to this. If served in Italy most of the food would be returned back to the chef. Considering the average... More

The first night in Faja Grande we went to this restaurant. It's located in a small cosy house in the outskirts of the village. The interior is also very nice. But it stops there! The service was very slow and not very welcoming. We ordered pancakes as out first course. We got some tiny "things" which looked like an old... More
