Friendly, expensive - wonderful

Had heard about Gigi's and on the spur of the moment decided to go there for lunch yesterday, without booking. The place profits from its monopoly location at the end of a long bridge to offer food at exorbitant prices. I have seen people leaving after having checked the kilo prices for their fish. However, our monkfish was excellent and very tasty, although I must admit that I did not appreciate the chef's reamark "minimalista!" upon my query whether 700... More

An interesting restaurant on stilts above the nature reserve - protected from the cross winds by bright yellow awnings but offering great views - book early to make sure you can sit outside. A bit expensive, but good food and worth the walk across the foot bridge

I read that this was where the jet-setters go to have lunch and listen to live opera, but was surprised to find a wooden shack-like restaurant that didn't overlook the beach. The vibe was quite chilled and we were able to sit out in a pleasant spot in the sun. There was an impressive selection of fish but the prices... More

Don't be taken in by this place, it's nothing special, just an overpriced shack serving average food run by an arrogant pig. If you're happy to line his pockets then go ahead, no doubt he'll be very charming once he realises how gullible you are.

For me it's the best place to eat fish in Portugal, it's an exclusive place with exclusive people! The owners are very gentle and the waiters too, the seafood is also very fresh and tasteful. The prices are not low but no one can think that goes to the restaurant of the most expensive and exclusive resort in Portugal paying... More

This wooden shack occupies an enviable position. One which it abuses beyond any doubt. The menu is chalked on a board and one has to take a second look to absorb how ridiculously high the prices are. The food is at least TWICE as expensive as anywhere else in the locale. The only exception here is that the food is... More

Don't even fret that there is not a price to be found on the fish chalkboard. I can tell you whatever you order is likely to have been swimming earlier in the day - and frankly you just can't beat it. We went early for lunch and got a table no problem. Side fare is simple, but what else do... More
