Friendly, expensive - wonderful

Had heard about Gigi's and on the spur of the moment decided to go there for lunch yesterday, without booking. It is accessed over a long bridge and is really just a shack, with wooden furniture, without any cushions. It's all about the location and the fresh fish. Realised that you have to go... read more

At the beach end of the long wooden bridge to the beach in Quinto (you have to walk it) is a wooden restaurant which seems a bit basic but has a great atmosphere and great views from the outdoor decking where most of the tables are. However, the main thing is the outstanding fresh sea food. You will not find... More

We reserved a table for 8 and they give us a table for 6, service was terrible, 8 drinks ordered they came in dribs and drabs and drinks missing. The menu is very misleading and the food comes at all different time, which for the money you pay is not very professional the seats are very uncomfortable and the guy... More

This place may be a bit expensive but with this view and this food, money doesn't seem that important anymore!!! Visiting the Algarve without going to Gigi's is not complete!!! Try the clams with just a simple tomatosalade; Heaven!!!

Keep it simple, that's how it's done at GiGi's. This place gets the best quality fresh fish daily and cooks it over a charcoal grill with butter, garlic and lemon! The location is beautiful, sitting on its own looking over a nature reserve and backing onto a gorgeous beach. Sit back enjoy the food and make sure you are sitting... More

I stumbled across Gigi's after a round of golf in Quinta do Lago and was delighted I did. Gigi and his team are wonderful and the food is the real star of the show. Yes, it can get windy outside but if you're looking for a great location with great food then have a look at Gigi's. I was really... More

We used to go to Gigi's whenever we were in the area and always enjoyed the views and wonderful atmosphere. We went again recently and were very disappointed. The views are still stunning, however there was not atmosphere. Service was poor. The food was disappointing and very expensive. We can only agree with one of the previous comments: tasteless vegetables... More

Nice set up on the beach and friendly staff but that's where the good review ends. Shockingly expensive for seafood that was bland and no more than ok (and don't even consider the vegetables - over boiled old school dinner style). Cover of €5 for two small rolls was punchy as was a €70 bill for two langoustine prawns, calamari,... More

The place profits from its monopoly location at the end of a long bridge to offer food at exorbitant prices. I have seen people leaving after having checked the kilo prices for their fish. However, our monkfish was excellent and very tasty, although I must admit that I did not appreciate the chef's reamark "minimalista!" upon my query whether 700... More

An interesting restaurant on stilts above the nature reserve - protected from the cross winds by bright yellow awnings but offering great views - book early to make sure you can sit outside. A bit expensive, but good food and worth the walk across the foot bridge
