We had lunches and dinners at the Kandouni on numerous occasions this June. It was always good and sometimes stunning: the cheese pies and fish soup in particular were wonderful! And always good value! George and Alexandra are always friendly and efficient. The Kandouni really is our "go to" eating place in Batsi - it has a lovely outdoor seating... More

The Kandouni is on the opposite side of the bay from the port. It's right next to the beach. We were greeted by friendly waiters and given the menu. For starters we had saganaki and some little cheese pies. I had been wanting to try the local speciality, frutalia which is an omelette containing country sausages and potatoes so I was... More

Went to the Kandouni a few times as we usually went on the beach in front of that restaurant. Nice place, food ok, nothing special in my opinion, but the milk shakes are out of this world! The strawberry milkshake is delicious, worth a visit during the day just for that! Not cheap at 6 euro but worth ever penny... More

The place has a nice atmosphere and the welcome was very warm. The food was ok, but not amazing, same goes for the cleanliness of the place. We stayed over a week in Andros, but there were nicer places we went back to several times and that one was not on the list. All in all-ok place, but nothing more... More

Lovely place adjacent to the beach at the opposite end to the harbour, well-space tables with a traditional feel. We had horta, lovely green beans, excellent tzatziki, fabulous briam & imam, a Greek salad and splendid stuffed tomatoes, all prepared by an expert. The house white was very good value. Very friendly service in a nice traditional environment. Complimentary melon... More

Kandouni is one of the best tavernas in Batsi. The cooking is very traditional Greek and not food cooked specially for tourists. Here you will eat proper pasticcio and moussaka among many other tasty meals, often cooked by Georgos's elderly Greek mother. Georgos's and Alexandria are a hard working couple who provide excellent service and food, and who have a... More

The restaurant is run by a friendly and hardworking young couple, and his mother rules in the kitchen. The food is mostly similar to the food served in the other taverns, but it is all prepared very good. There's joy and passion in it. The serving couple is friendly and enthusiastic and manages to take some time for a friendly... More

Kandouni is situated at the far end of Batsi bay, next to Cavo Doro. Kandouni is a combined pension, restaurant and cafe. Take a morning swim in the clean, clear water just over the road and relax with a beer, coffee or ouzo. Shame they can't provide a meze with the ouzo, just crisps. The restaurant serves excellent home cooked... More

Kandouni is a must for us to take our family, friends etc when they come to visit Andros. Always welcomed warmly by George & Sandra, the food is always very good - prepared & cooked by Mamma. As residents, we have eaten lots of meals in lots of places, but this is the top place to come if you want... More
