Friendly staff

Although we booked for lunch at the last minute, we found the staff very friendly and accommodating. We all had a set menu and really enjoyed our meal. The food was freshly prepared, and well presented, with some unusual combinations of ingredients and flavours. Good value.

We had the "cheapest" menu at 29 Euros and were very pleasantly surprised. The appetizer was a fresh and cool mixture of little pieces of tomato and cucumber gazpacho sauce, delicious. Then we had fish (cabillaud) that was extremely well prepared and seasoned with delicious potatoes. Meat was also tasty, a type of boeuf braisé but 100 times better. The... More

We had been enjoying fantastic meals at Tantine et Tonton since it first opened; however, it has gone up in price and down in both quality and presentation in the last 2 years. Perhaps they are focusing more on their bistro in La Place de la Republique. For the first few years, there were 3 menus to choose from plus... More

my exact notes: Very cute place with 2 prix fixe menus. The food was imaginative, creative and delicious. Amuse bouche was creme fraiche with peas onions dried and sprinkled with poured asparagus soup- amazing flavor. 2 fish Smoked Haddock for start w burrata cheese amidst tiny radish thins greens and toasted bread garnish Main Filet of bar (sea bass) Delicious... Having heard great things about this restaurant, and experienced excellent food and value with weekday lunches at their Carcassonne establishment, we were excited to go for a special Saturday lunch in Limoux. What a disappointment! Most of the courses were nondescript and tasteless, though very rich, while the main course, fillet de lieu noir, was incredibly salty. We had already... More

We really enjoyed our lunch - the flavour combinations were creative with a slight mid east/nth African influence in the preserved lemons served with the roast chicken and the hummus seasonings with the cod. The portion size was perfect for lunch and the ability to choose an entrée+plat or entrée+plat+dessert suits us as we often can only fit in a... More

Thankfully I live close to Tantine and therefore can regularly experience cuisine far superior to the best in London at a fraction of the price. Discount the decor. I have a feeling though it will be updated soon. Concentrate on the sheer skill that Stefan pours into his food, and definitely take Cyril's recommendation on a good wine, and you... More

We had an excellent lunch here on our recent visit to Limoux. It was recommended by a local winemaker and what a good choice it turned out to be. If you are in the area this is the place to eat. Excellent food and excellent value. The service was great too.

On our way from Haute Vallespir to Toulouse, in rather bad weather, we pre-booked for lunch. We were inevitably late! but were welcomed by a charming waiter who was unconcerned about our timing. The service was excellent, the Blanquette de Limoux Brut (what else!) appero was gorgeous, the set menu was very good, the meal was delicious. All together a... More

We had eaten a lunch at this restaurant earlier this year and had good food and good service and the restaurant was packed. We booked for a Friday evening this time and when we arrived at 8 pm the place was quite deserted. We choose 2 €29 and 2 €39. The amuse bouche was non de-script and tasteless. The deserts... More
