As good as ever

We had eaten at this place twice before and although it looks run down and unprepossessing it has never failed to provide a first-class eating experience. The highlight on each of our visits has been the Croquettes de Abuela which are a tuna croquette to die for!!! This time we had fried squid and... read more

Looks like a shack but don't be deterred. It's right on the beach with great ambience. The food was excellent and so was the service. The kitchen closes at 4.30 otherwise we would have gone much more often

We ate here three times during our holiday, lovely location, excellent food and great friendly service (got a kiss from the waitress on my birthday) An unexpected (and unlikely gem)!

Excellent service and lunchtime food very good. Watch the sea. Gets very busy. Closes on Wednesday. Recommend.

One of the most relaxing places I know. A great setting and fresh food. We always go with the recommendation for the day, as that is what will have been landed in the harbour the same morning. We go year after year and have never been disappointed. Basic? Yes. But I'm not sure what fresh fish needs when someone who... More

Always go to La Chalana when we're in La Gomera. Probably the best setting in Santiago, especially late afternoon or early evening. Generally good basic food but the "Sea Bass" with Papas Canarias we had today was excellent.

We arrived for lunch on a Sunday. We were hoping to have Calamari but were told only serving Paella or Sea Bream. They both were fine. However we did hear some Spanish people ordering Calamari- funny that!

Set right on the beach this little restaurant looks very basic but the food is so good. Don't expect quick service at lunchtime as it does get very busy and everything is cooked to order, but you can sit and have a drink and watch the sun glinting on the water. The food is simple but everything is fresh and... More

It is only a basic beach bar who serve food. Their daily special is usually fresh fish and the week we visited it was Seabass served with potatoes and salad for 9 Euros. It's excellent with good and friendly service, unfortunately its getting busier and you made have a wait for a table. Do not be put off by the... More

Went for lunch one day and had a lovely meal. My husband had the fish of the day and I had sardines which were both delicious. The setting is beautiful.
