Great food, suspect service

Food quality of both starters and mains was extremely good. The service was slow and very unenthusiastic, even though not very busy. The madrigal fish main was outstanding. Because the food was so good, We are going again tomorrow to see if the poor service was a one off ( although we have heard... read more

Visited for lunch once during our 7-day stay in La Gomera. The menu is OK and the food and wine is good. The servce is not slow, but a smile, a "welcome", how was the food etc. would have been nice. Not only taking the orders, leave the food on the table and collect the money... Did not feel the need... More

Lovely little restaurant in Playa De Santiago, right on the front, set back into a natural cave. The prawns in garlic were to die for !

We had a dinner at this restaurant during our stay in Playa de Santiago. Both the food and the service were great and we enjoyed our dinner very much. The restaurant´s atmosphere is very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate her twice, and both times we were served good food from a friendly staff. The restaurant is busy, so it can be a good idea to book a table, specially in the weekend.

This used to be a great place years ago. I think they are complacent now as they get business based on the fact they are in a cave as it were. Food was dire. No vegetables, no salad, just meat or fish served on a leaf of wet lettuce. Fried fish was raw in middle. Lamb stew came out cold... More

Really nice meal at the La Cuevita. The Baby Squid and the Avocado and prawns starters were particularly good. We both had the peppered steak which again was very good, served with chips and grilled bell peppers. The setting in the cave by the harbour was unique. It was interesting reading about the history of what it was used for... More

Tucked away at the harbour end of Playa Santiago, this was a good lunchtime find. Octopus dishes were superb starters and the sirloin steak mains were cooked beautifully. The restaurant had a very reasonably priced election of wines by the glass and bottle. Yes, as some previous reviewers have noted, the service doesn't perhaps come across as particularly friendly but... More

Just in front of the harbour we discovered this authentic place and kept on going there to have our lunch . If we would'nt have had booked half board in our hotel Jardin Tecina we probably would have had dinner there as well . Everything we tried from the menu was excellent . Very good service as well !

We ate here due to the reviews. The food was great. The baby squid was fantastic as a starter. The steak and chicken well presented and perfectly cooked. But, the waitress was miserable. A smile would have been nice. There are much smaller places to choose from with a better welcome.
