Tip: When Rhenia shows you the fresh fish she will make suggestions about how it should be cooked. Listen! We do. Fish can be expensive so if this is an issue take a cheaper dish such as kalamari. This is one of the few tavernas in Kolimbari that stays open every day all year. It has a lovely log fire... More

Asked what fresh fish they had, and was shown to the fridge with all their fresh catch. The service was excellent, as they explained the taste, and type of each fish they had to offer. Very simple cooking, but tastes very good. Nice view over the harbour from our table. Before we left, they even gave us each a shell... More

This is a great restaurant overlooking the sea. It's a perfect location for a seafood restaurant, wathcing the fishing boats bring in their latest catch. The proeprietors are friendly and knowledgeable. Howebver, unless you have an enormous appetitee, don't order the seafood playter for two. It is magnifcent but therve was now way we could get through it all. It... More

Kolymbari is a small village. From that perspective the choice is limited and what is otherwise averagely good, takes on gargantuan proportions. That is the case here with these rhapsodic reviews and it could make for unnecessary disappointment. It is a large, local and unpretentious taverna. Good seafood, no frills, no gimmicks. If you find yourself in Kolymbari or Drakona... More

This is the best fish restaurant in Kolymbari. I recommend that you ask to see the fish. The chef gave us many different choices that all sounded very good. The best choice however is to leave it up to the chef.

Another recommendation from the Cretan owners of our villa and a very good one too. A relaxing place overlooking the little harbour. Very pleasant service and excellent food, especially the seafood. We ate lunch here twice and enjoyed it hugely.

Great fresh fish, you can be sure of that. The owner owns a fish market two villages before the restaurant. We had the fish platter with lobster upfront and starters, wine bottle for three persons. The service was very good, I picked the two lobsters I wanted from the tank. The price was around 80 €, which in my view... More
