Good food Great atmosphere Excellent Service

coming down from above in the dark we found this restaurant a bit difficult to find but it was worthwhile. Although we were told that they only opened at 8pm it was almost full by the time we arrived at 8.10 including one large party. The place had a nice buzz & we noted that a lot of the... read more

We have been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times in the past few years, and our experience was always quite positive. However, this summer we encountered the very unwelcoming and strange behaviour of the host, who seemed to be having a very bad day. Being asked in Italian for some salt for one of the antipasti, which was rather... More

Showed up and asked about reservations for the night as we wanted to eat an hour or so later....owner said none needed. Showed up an hour later and told we needed a reservation and to leave. Never been treated so poorly!

It seems most non-luxury restaurants are described as simple. Well this goes beyond that in taste. We had a wide variety of dishes and they were perfect. The wine list includes many local vineyards, and the service was super friendly but not over attentive. I can't imagine visiting Monforte d'Alba and not eating here.

Ate here in August of 2014. We we had a free evening and were staying in Monforte d'Alba and chose this Osteria completely by random chance. The meal was delicious and the presentation impeccable as always in the region. Of course the wine list is extensive and local. Really a delightful casual meal. Not mind blowing, just hitting every perfect... More

Funky place and strange atmosphere but filled with locals. We loved our dishes for the most part especially the rye whole grain maltagliata con leek sauce. For once we thought the prices were right because the quality was excellent and the portions were abundant! I think the veranda outside in the summer would be lovely!

We had the 5 course menu, at 35 euros, and every dish was exciting and delicious. A truly memorable dinner experience. The interior was, cozy and somewhat intimate, still roomy and informal. We liked the third floor mezzanine, with just 3 tables and a small veranda outside. Service was very professional and timing of the different courses perfectly orchestrated. Very... More

It's just 3 minutes away from the center of Monforte, in a very narrow street: you'll be rewarded by a warm welcome into a nice restaurant. It's on three levels, no particular suggestion... they are all ok, maybe the upper floor is smaller and more "private" we had just a quick lunch, with Monfortina (enriched by some truffle), lasagne, and... This should be the No.1 restaurant in Monfort d'Alba. We stumbled across this cozy restaurant by chance on our second night in Monfort d'Alba. We were a group of 8 but luckily they squeezed us in at short notice. The food was amazing, between us we tried most of the menu & there wasn't a single dish that wasn't totally... More

This is a warm cozy place with good food and a local--or, at least Italian tourist--clientele. Service was good, the food was hearty and tasty and the portions were enormous.
