Perfect!

We had a fantastic meal for our 1st wedding anniversary here. We took advice from the owners and had a traditional Tuscan meal with soup, two pasta dishes, the most delicious wold boar I've ever eaten and an incredible cheese course. Incredibly good value for money and a great way to try a range of... read more

Easter evening... The portion are really good and the Pici, Soup and Lasagna was fantastic, unfortunately I cannot say the same for the maialino (baby pig) with pear was a bit dry and not so many meat around the bone, the tagliata was nice but the truffle on the top wasn't fresh, the home wine was delicious and the service... Hands down the best meal We had on our long Easter weekend in Tuscany. You leave this place with a full belly and a big smile on your face. This is how it works: There are no menus. Things are done family style. Since we had never been there before, our waiter suggested that we try there tasting menu. They... More

I discovered this restaurant years ago thanks to Beth elon's book, tasting Tuscany . This year while waiting to move in to our house we came here often . yesterday we went back to celebrate my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is lovely, often there is jazz playing softly, the service is excellent. But most important of all, every dish I... More

Living as a tourist every year a weeks or 4 to 6 in Pienz (Siena) we donot come often in the Amiata region. Today however we were lucky to have a table i Ristorante Anna in Piancastagnaio, on the slopes of Monte Amiata. The place was completely booked, it was Sunday and Italian families use to meet then in the... More

This local, family restaurant was recommended by the owners of the Convento di San Bartolomeo where we stayed, and we truly enjoyed it. The zuppa of castagne and funghi was outstanding, as well as the other dishes. All the pasta is made by hand and their lasagne were delicious. The owners were delightful hosts, and in particular Pino who recited... More

This restaurant is an amazing find. Don't miss it! It's in a residential neighborhood, and in the three times we've been there over the years it seems to be populated completely by locals. The food is all seasonal, fresh and house made. The chestnut and mushroom soup was heavenly. Every time we've been there our only disappointment was that we... More
