We had an evening meal here resently. While restaurant/pub was quite busy we were facilitated quite quickly (we had not made a reseravation). Food was well presented and came along within a short time. Staff vere very friendly. Restaurant has a very good reputation and easy to see why - no hesitation in recommending for evening meal.(Top gastropub in Munster)

Mick and Joyce Soden , chefs at The Derg Inn, prepared amazing food for us recently during our visit to Terryglass. Yes! Yes! Yes! The beef and lamb, as well as everything else, were delicious. We met Mick and Joyce. As well as beeing great cooks, they are also great people. We would go there again in a heart beat.... More

Had a lovely meal here it was pricey but the food was good. The white wine was warm which I know can happen but at the price being charged it should be right. Have to say the waiting staff and barman were excellent. The owners could do with leaving the job to their excellent staff and stop hovering around tables.... More

We had a party of 12 people (7 adults & 5 children). Upon ordering we were refused a half portion of the adults tagiatelli for one of the children even though one of the adults had ordered the same dish. The fish & chips was inedible, having cut into the batter oil flowed out resulting in soggy chips and the... More

This was one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. We were a party of three, and each of the meals was delicious. I had Jumbo Prawns in the most delicate filigree pastry served with an amazing Hoi Sin sauce. My main course was Honey glazed Guinea Fowl which was served on a bed of scallion mash,... More

Lots of outdoor seating here at the Derg set in the heart of the village of Terryglass. We ordered coffee and scones after a longish walk down to the lake and really enjoyed the huge fresh scones seved promptly with jam and cream- very filling and tasty !

A group of us were at a wedding in Coolbawn lately and decided too go too the Derg for a meal the night before.. The look and atmosphere of the pub was nice but it just seemed there was no set way of doing anything everything was all up in the air. The waitresses/waiter were very friendly and obliging but... This restaurant has very good reviews, nice atmosphere and cosy interior but the food is in the best very average. My choice was - cod in Provençal sos and green pesto. It sounds great and presentation of the dish was very good. The only problem was the taste or rather lack of taste. My partners trout wasn't grate either. (muddy... More

Great little spot with all the right ingredients, an open fire, friendly and intuitive staff, great food, good value and in a lovely little village. I need an excuse to get back there!
