Had a wonderful lunch in The Derg today. Three of us had fish and chicken mai.ns and delicious deserts. The room was comfortable and excellent service. Also the welcome on arrival was warm and friendly. Looking forward to going there again soon.

We were visiting the Lough Derg area for a day trip and were on our way back to Ennis to stay. Friends told us we should really stop in to the Derg Inn in Terryglass for lunch. They were right! We were cold and damp from our castle visits, and we sat down next to a peat fire. By the... More

I've been to this restaurant before and had a nice meal but yesterday was a whole different experience, whether it was down to the inviting fire or the extra attention we got due to how quiet it was, i don't know, and i really couldn't care less because it was one of the most pleasant dining experience I've ever had!!!!!!... Booking a table in the prize winning gastro pub has changed. You now go to the bar ask to book a table for your sons birthday on the October weekend to be told, I will put a request for in you. When my wife told me I rang to ask if the table was booked the manager replied that it... More

I’m very sorry to have to strongly disagree on a public forum Paul but your wife asked for a specific table when booking. Our manager took the booking and explained to your wife that she would put in a request for that particular table for you the night. We have to manage our business especially on the busiest night of... More

I found this place as a pub to be pleasant but as a restaurant I found it to be dreadful. I holidayed in Terryglass in August for a week and on the last night treated my daughter (10) and myself to a meal here. The door was wide open and there was a steady stream of wasps which wasn't pleasant... More

We got married in the nearby Coolbawn Quay in July. With so many of our guests arriving the night before, we decided to have a BBQ this night and not the day after. A lot of our guests were staying in Terryglass and we had eaten a few times in the Derg Inn and the food was great, so decided... More

I've been frequenting The Derg for many a year now. After quite a long break, we found ourselves back here on a few occasions over the last twelve months. Now It seems to have really focused on the food and its good. Really good. The highlights are the crab claw starters, mussels, the Derg Burger and, if they have it... More

This place is a must restaurant to visit. Food and Service was excellent, fresh and local produce is always the best and that's why the food is excellent. Between us we had the seafood chowder (the best we have ever had, nothing can beat it plenty of fish), steak and the most fantastic thai green chicken curry ever which I... More

before visiting the Derg Inn we were a little apprehensive due to reviews I had read... Well I do not know when those people had visited the Derg but when we went the food and the service could not have been better. I had a mouth watering fish dish and my partner had the steak, he said it was the... More
