Perhaps a little training is needed e.g. waitress enters dining room with two plates of food, the guests have also ordered a bottle of red wine which is carried under her armpit, I think that is referred to as a lazy mans Load. For the money that is charged here , I really don't think anyone can complain about much,... More

Good food and service - welcomed despite a large party of vintage car enthusiasts arriving very soon after

wonderful location,,excellent service, beautifully prepared food for all of us last Saturday as in 9 classic cars we stopped for this pre-arranged lunch at The Galley of Lorne. Looking forward to returning here in the future for a longer stay and dinner!

We had a family weekend get together and 12 of us had a meal at the Galley. It was a lovely dinning room, the food was excellent and the waitress was very lovely and welcoming. There is a beautiful view from the restaurant window and all food was very fresh and tasty. My husband had the pork belly which he... More

First visit in many years. We left feeling disappointed as the bar staff appeared very disinterested to both us and other guests as they arrived. Maybe some retraining would be advisable or supervisory status introduced. It's a pity as such a world class location deserves to deliver a much better standard of hospitality to both the domestic and international traveller.

The Mariner's eggs (scrambled eggs with smoked salmon) was incredible. Supper, the night before was likewise with fresh seafood, lamb, and sticky toffee pudding.

We stayed in one of the six rooms at the Galley overnight. Booking made clear this room only had a window in the bathroom, and this was not a problem. Restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, but service was good, food was great - included pigeon for starter. Good choices for breakfast. Get a seat by the window and... More

We visited here due to location and previous reviews. When we arrived it was only us there and it still took the waitress 25 minutes to take the order before walking off without asking if we wanted drinks. The food was high quality and obviously prepared by a skilled chef (the mussels are some of the best i have tasted).... More
