Nice quality food and friendly staff

Though this is a hotel we only went here for an evening meal. The eating area is pleasant and the food was a nice quality at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly. Access can only be gained via steps so it may not be appropriate for those with mobility issues. It is located over looking the... read more

Visited for lunch with a colleague when working in the area. We waited 45 minutes for our meal to arrive and were therefore late for an appointment. There was no warning about the delay. The food was dreadful. My colleague had a tagliatelle which he described as bland and tasteless. I ordered a vegetable risotto and what I received bore... More

We visited for the Sunday carvery, a couple of evening meals and a breakfast. The food was gorgeous, home cooked and lovingly prepared in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were great particularly the manager Owen, who made us feel very welcome and the hostess Paula who was so lovely and very patient with great knowledge and advice of the menu.... More

We popped in for lunch before we checked into a nearby holiday park. Greeted warmly and the waitress was excellent with our daughter, and provided colouring without us having to ask for anything. Good real ale available. Brilliant music playing in the dining room. Meals were pleasant, chicken dish and fish and chips. Nice and hot and presented well. Just... More

Thanks for posting your review. I'm sorry you were disappointed with your £85.00 deal for 2 people including dinner. The deal you purchased from Groupon clearly stated the dinner menu available for this fantastic special offer. We had a selection of offers online and this was the one you chose. Great evening spent at the Valentine Day Special. For £35 per couple we had the 3 course meal PLUS bottle of wine, outstanding value AND quality! The staff were busy and cheerful, service was steady and there was free entertainment as well. How they did all this for the price is amazing, absolute credit to them.

The hotel is in Victorian style, like most of the buildings in the town. The restaurant is rather dark but with character. The meals are good but a little pricy, especially in the evening,

Thanks for posting your recent belated review from your visit 3 months ago. The majority of our guests inform us that we offer excellent value for money as all our food is freshly prepared on a daily basis in our own kitchens. Average prices are £6 for a starter and £12 for a main course. Kind Regards Gary P Conlan... More

Good portions of nicely cooked food. No need to look anywhere else in Silloth. Good menu. Breakfasts are of particularly good value. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Never been before so didn't know what to expect. Sunday carvery was just under a tenner and offers 3 meats (Turkey, beef and ham whilst we were there) which the chef carves for you. You can then help yourself to veg (four different choices we had), stuffing, gravy and home-made Yorkshire puds. Also, there was a range of condiments -... More
