Wonderful meal

We chose the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. This is certainly in our top ten meals anywhere. Each course was a treat. Magnifique.

We had 2 dinners on consecutive evenings and both meals were very good and the presentation excellent. The portions are what you would expect for food of this quality i.e. not big but plenty to enjoy and leave the table satisfied. A very friendly and knowledgable sommelier. Only downside was the price of their better quality cognacs - €28 a... More

We did not expect to find such a superb restaurant in this golf resort, and what a pleasant surprise. The star is well deserved: our a la carte selections were delicious, the service was impeccable, and the dining room was tastefully renovated. Unfortunately we visited in early May when it was still too cool in the evening to eat outside,... More

Second time at les Fresques and now one Michelin-star. We had a 3-course menu for 55 euro, and it tasted lovely. Perfect service and good winelist with a lot of wines from the area. We had a Ch. Giscours 2006, 95 euro, and it was perfect and well-balanced. Les Fresques is highly recommended for food - and wine-lovers.

Location = Stunning, like a fairytale film. We did not stay here but in central Bergerac and it was worth the journey. Service = Out of this world. Helped us with menus and explained what each course was when we ordered the taster menu recommended by the chef. Food = WOW best food I have ever eaten, ever and I... More

We live and work very close to this hotel and restaurant and were extremely pleased to find out we now have a Michelin Star restaurant on our door step. Our first experience in May 2014 was fantastic, 10 out of 10, could not have been any better. However went again in August and what a disappointment. Very average experience for... More

We ate here before it was awarded a star and thought it worthy of the status then. Unfussy but elegant food, excellent service, friendly and with good attention to detail - and an interesting wine list with many locally sourced wines. There was a small problem with one of our starters and this was resolved immediately and with good grace.

The terrace at Chateau Vigier is a heavenly place for dinner. The degustation menu is extremely well balanced and food is excellently cooked but, to my mind, lacks that certain je ne sais quoi that marks out a Michelin starred establishment. There were no gastronomic delights which would entice me back at this price. The estate wines were good, but... More

Chateau Vigiers is a special location. The terrace is superb and the food is high quality. All courses were extremely good and well cooked. Langoustines can be tough if overcooked – mine were succulent and delicious. The main course lamb was excellent and still pink as requested Similarly the wines were very well chosen. The local sweet Saussignac with the... More

It is the second time we have stayed and had a meal in Les Fresques restaurant. Each time the food and service have been perfect. The first time we had the gastronomique menu where we did not have a choice of what we ate. We were a little concerned as the French have a reputation for eating nose to tail... More
