Pleasant ambience, shame about the food

The problem in Koh Samui is finding a Thai restaurant that has both a relaxed and pleasant ambience and serves anything approaching genuine Thai food. The problem in Koh Samui is finding a Thai restaurant that has both a relaxed and pleasant ambience and serves anything approaching genuine Thai food. Krua Bophut is well located on the beach in Fisherman's Village, the decor is attractive, and the service is well-intentioned even if not always impeccable. Which is why I have taken house guests there several... More

Writing my first review of a restaurant ever - it was THAT bad. Just don't go. Horrible service and mediocre food left me feeling annoyed by the way we were treated and ill after a the cashew chicken entree. The staff was curt and rude and to top it all off the drinks, food and check took forever. I literally... More

Owned by the same people as the Bophut Resort and spa - this restaurant is well worth a visit. Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere - also very reasonably priced! We shared a chicken satay, massuman curry, chicken and cashew nut, two alcoholic drinks and it came to a total of around 1000 bhat.

Food are nice, not to say superb however in small portion. Drinks are overpriced as 5 drinks were almost the price of 5 dishes. View are nice however for dinner you can't even see the sea as it was too dark.

The Villa Owner recommended us this restaurant as we were searching an authentic thai restaurant with fresh seafodd. It is located in the walking street, just a few meters by walk from the wharf. The service was top and the food suuuuper delicious. If you want to eat authentic thai, this restaurant is a must.

Had a nice meal but felt was overpriced and unfortunately one of the restaurants that adds tax and service which bumped the price up even more. Service was good

Having got a mixed reaction to this restaurant and spoken to the very friendly staff many times I thought I would try it, I love thai food, especially it looks and tastes good, this place doesn't let you down, only negative it can get busy so service slows a little but hey they is awesome so just enjoy and relax

We went for a meal in January whilst on our honeymoon. It was a lovely restaurant, on the beachfront, very romantic setting with lots of pretty lights. The menu was mainly thai, and a good selection. I ordered something with 2 chilli's on the menu (meaning medium spice) but it was HOT!! This was a shame, as my husband ordered... More

It must be said that my recommendation is backed by 3 separate visits to Krua over the space of 8 months. We also recommended the restaurant to friends who were in town for a wedding and they (table of 12) thoroughly enjoyed it too. The setting is fantastic (ask to sit on the beach), the food is well presented and... More

This is not authentic thai food, the waitress explained after our meal thats it's a European/thai approach. There are much better restaurants in the village that offer genuine thai food at a fraction of the price. If you are however looking for a mild/subtle thai introduction, then this is ok. We just didn't like it, but everyone has different taste,... More
