Lovely lunch

Been here before and loved it so back we went this year. Just as we remembered - beautiful place, excellent food (vitello tonnato superb) and delicious wine. You can eat cheaper but it's worth it as a treat. Also so nice to be somewhere so posh feeling where kids are truly welcomed and made to feel... read more

Piemontese food is conceptually very similar to Japanese food. When I was presented with my raw meat mini tower, with a drizzle of olive oil on the plate and a few slices of black truffle capping it I thought this was the epitome of essential, minimalist gastronomy, closed my eyes and enjoyed the wonder of exquisite flavors and aromas. There... More

we were recommended to come here by some italian friends who are originally from the region. Im glad we made the effort, It is off the beaten track but do-able with a sat nav. we arrived at 1.45 and worried that we might be too late, but the owner could not be more friendly and welcoming even though we speak... If you want amazing food typical of the Piedmont region, great atmosphere, and fantastic service, then this is the place for you! I followed a friend's recommendation, so decided to venture out to Calamandrana to have lunch at this absolutely delightful restaurant. It's not exactly on the way to anything, so you have to look for it, but boy oh... More

this restaurant is probably one of the most classic restaurants in the region, you can tell by the table covers and attire of the service and the fact that there is no prices for the Menu. And if you don’t ask for the wine card, they suggest a good wine but might be pricy. This is a higher quality restaurant... More

Our first day in Piemonte started with difficulty finding our accommodation. I stumbled upon La Violetta in the afternoon to seek some help. Although no English was spoken I had great assistance from what turned out to be our host for dinner that night!! Like other contributors it takes a leap of faith to order a full meal with no... La Violetta serves excellent Piemontese food. Service is friendly. The atmosphere is fine. It is a no frills place, down to earth and at the same time well kept. We've eaten here many times over the last 7 years since we first came to Piemonte and never had a bad experience. The price range is ok however not knowing the... More

Many visits over past 5 years and no disappointments. The very best of Piemontese cuisine. Our last visit in November 2013 was a Bagna Cauda Evening which will remain in our memories for many years.

Thanks to the previous reviewers we ended up at this fine Italian restaurant. We too had some troubles finding it but after asking directions in our best Italian we found this gorgeous restaurant. As we were the first guests to arrive (our plan was to first have and before ordering dinner) we were greeted in person by the owner. The... More

It is a very nicely situated , family run restaurant . Maybe a bit difficult to find , if you don't know the are . The food is always lovely , not too "heavy " , as the local food can be . It is very well presented , and served to perfection . Last night we had artichoke with... More
