Neat open air restaurant along the main road in Atenas. It is about a 5-7 minute drive from a few of the local bed and breakfasts. Our waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed a sampler type platter for two and had a lot of food left over. Just be careful leaving your car unattended!!! Not the restaurants fault, but... More

After church, some expats invited us to come and join them for their first Sunday of the month luncheon. The destination? Don Yayos! This was a new place for us. It is amazing in this rural town, how many great eateries there are! Okay, we said, let's go! We followed highway three past the gas station and headed out of... More

This is a popular spot with the locals and several people recommended it. Our experience was okay but we found the food to be overpriced and really overcooked. Perhaps it's just a difference in cooking style but our BBQ platters were tough and dry. The restaurant was crowded and noisy with a Friday night locals crowd who all seemed to... More

Had the pleasure of dining at this roadside, open air establishment. The first time had to order the arroz con pollo and platano frito with a margarita of course. The food was delicious and our specific margarita was made to order and followed by another by myself and teetotaler companions. The service was good and the prices very reasonable. The... More

The food was good, quite good actually. The prices were on the cheap side for Costa Rica. They have 6 big screen TVs on the walls that are so loud that give you a headache. I guess it might be possible to ask them to lower the volume. We didn't. The service was slow and not very attentive. We ordered... More

Always busy, Food is typical, not extra special but good, and fairly inexpensive. I had the casado - was a lot of food and a small price (about $5). Tasty and very filling!

We ate here twice while in Atenas. I dont know how they're smoking their pork but it is juicy and delicious. Try sampler platter (careful, its HUGE) also ceviche, chorizo, ribs. Wanted to go back to try more but ran out of time. Stop in for a couple beer amd bocas.

This restaurant is always hopping and gets especially busy if there's a soccer game on. But the prices are great, good selection of food and the food is not fancy but good. Small plates (bocas) are available which are great. Wait staff is friendly and very professional.

This restaurant is always packed with all the locals in Atenas. So if your looking for Tico food this place will not disappoint. We enjoy the wings and the chicken is excellent. Do not drive by and keep going because of the crowds and parking it's worth the stop
