I went with a friend who lives near this place - the food was good and priced OK. They have a pretty extensive menu and, according to my friend, all of it is good! Our waiter spoke limited English but we were able to communicate well. Not much atmosphere but OK.

We had a friend in town and were looking for a place to eat with good typical Costa Rican food and we wound up here after having major price shock at La Trocha. The shrimp in Garlic was good as was the bistec milanesa that a friend had. My other friend that had the casados con pescado (fish) said it... More

This restaurant has changed hands several times over the last few years. Significant improvements have been made and we enjoy it very much. Gringos should be aware that steak is typically not aged in Costa Rica, so they are frequently disappointed with the toughness. This place is nice and is worth a try!

This was just what we hoped for. Typical casados. Great rice, beans, plantains, salad and fish. The service was perfect and the location was pretty.

Hard to explain how bad his was. The waiter was very pleasant but unfortunately that was the only positive. We ordered the best steak on the menu (tenderloin) and couldn't have been more disappointed. When the waiter asked how we enjoyed our meal (most of it was still on the plate), my wife used her best Spanish and pointed to... More

We have been coming to this restaurant for four years and this year was just awful! My steak was so tough and the mushroom sauce so salty. My friends had fish with no taste and a small portion of frozen vegetables that were tasteless. They could not make a margarita. Last year and previous years no problem. The gringo prices... More

This charming little restaurant was a mainstay for us during our week in Atenas. The staff is friendly, and the food was outstanding. There is a wide variety to choose from, including bocas, or small plates, casados, and many others. After your drink arrives, you'll get a small plate of fresh chips and a rich, slightly sweet bean dip that... More

My friend and I had lunch here. The food was very good, esp. the "Aztec" soup and the Steak sandwich! The chicken wings were not so great - very dry and little flavor. A bit pricier than some places but definitely worth the trip!

II found the restaurent almost by mistake. Though it is on the main road, it is not always obvious when driving. It adjacent to the CoopAtenas, so that is the best way to find it by GPS. It is well worth, the personnel is friendly and the food is great. I recommend it. Pura Vida. Denis

We've been coming to Atenas for the last four years. La Trilla has always been a favorite stop for smoothies and a good meal at a fair price, with friendly service and a breezy, outdoor feel. Given the choice of restaurants in the area, our family of four felt La Trilla was one of the best. We came back this... More
