great interior - first surprise coming from outside. we had had a recommendation from our B&B otherwise we would have never stopped there. nice staff too. great wine list and service. Meal was quite good, except for the desserts, which looked really good but had no taste! even the strawberries had no taste, which was quite surprising in May. overall... More

I hadn't realised until quite recently that I could review this restaurant on Trip Advisor, and the following experience took place almost four years ago. I have stated "October 2012", because I had to choose a date before submitting this. My husband and I went there to celebrate my birthday, and frankly we wished we had stayed at home (we... More

To be fair, the presentation of the food was wonderful, the main part of each dish, we all agreed, was delicious and the service and the atmosphere were fine. Where it all went wrong for us as a family of four was that the decorative additions which complemented the appearance of each dish really didn't complement the flavour. I'd be... More

I read somewhere that this could well be a Michelin-starred restaurant. Well I think not, from our experience recently. My husband and I went for lunch on a Monday in June 2013. The restaurant was very quiet with less than 8 customers. We decided on the 2-course menu de jour which was supposedly value for money. The first course of... More

good food, friendly people and reasonable price. sometimes may help if the menu had some english subtitles, as a teen does not necessarily understand everything in french

Great lunches, sitting out on the backdecks, a daily menu available which is good value. Dinners are more elaborate, and equally enjoyable. Showcases regional food, and broader french cuisine. Lots of the local gaillac wine, yum. B&b next door, chateau cestaroyls, making this a relaxing stopover if tourin around.

Went there one evening in a large group and had some pretty good food and not bad wine. Seems a bit pricey in evening with menus at 30 or 40€. A glass of house plonk is 5€ and a small bottle of beer 3.80€. The glory or not of a Michelin mention.

We've been to Lou Cantoun several times and have always had a great meal with excellent service. My wife & I tend to go for Sunday lunch which is always a bit special. I go with my golfing partners for luch during the week which is more inexpensive. Whenever we go we get great value for money. A great little... More
