Nice Lunch

A friendly waitress cleared and wiped the table as we sat down. The noise from the espresso coffee machine made it difficult for me to make myself heard to the person taking orders at the counter, or to hear her (see the comment made by another reviewer about repositioning the till). We shared... read more

It look appealing from the outside, with a pavement cafe atmosphere and a variety of food being made available from sandwiches to hot main meals. I opted for the Stilton & Stout rarebit, and my wife fancied the roast beef with creamy horseradish sandwich on granary. We sat inside as outside still had a little nip in the wind and... More

Poor service which is a shame because the food is rather nice! Very pricey but great place and concept. We would stop by again but the staff need to learn to smile and exercise manners!

We wanted some food after our visit to the nearby Workhouse and this place looked inviting. The menu wasn't appealing to either of us though, so we opted for tea & cake instead. We had a good pot each in real tea pots, not those leaky metal ones, plus real China tea cups & saucers. The cakes were yummy, but... More

Visited here on a Saturday, first time visiting Southwell, and without even thinking reservations might be needed. After around a 40 minute wait (insisted upon by my family) we got a table. The food was very good though, freshly made, and over-generous potions. Friendly staff, good food and a central location, makes this a popular selection for the up market... More

Unfriendly unsmiling staff . Tables close together and slow to clear. Our food was good but expensive. Walk a bit further down the high street for a much more pleasant cafe. Shame.

After a trip to the Workhouse we visited the pretty village of Southwell, for food. We visited the Old Theatre Deli, which is in a great location close to the Southwell Minister. We sat inside although there are plenty of seats outside on the patio. The door was open so not very warm, it was March, and ordered coffee and... More

Had breakfast upstairs.. Lovely choice of unusual breakfasts, i would gladly have chosen any of the options but I had the Victory breakfast comprising poached egg, mushroom home made baked beans, spinich vine tomatoes and toast followed by a freshly made banana and cinnamon smoothie.all absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.can certainly recommend

First time we have visited this deli today, and what a wonderful little gem. They provide blankets and hot water bottles for those seated outside. We ordered tea and scones (how very English) and very nice they were too. Good service added to the enjoyment.

Loved the selection of both local and imported deli options. Had a lovely lunch with tea and cake too!
