Found this wonderful, super friendly, quaint Alsatian cuisine restaurant on our way to Selestat from Paris. Stopped here in Severne for dinner and found a beautiful, quaint restaurant with the nicest, most personable, local new friends who helped us order (no English speaking servers or translations here). Our dinner consisted of a huge platter of savory meats, sausages, duck confit,... More

This is such a nice spot that we were sorry when our food arrived so fast! We had the flammkuchen and the schuphnudeln with cheese (and some bacon, of course!). The food was good and the service friendly and fine. I liked the informal, yet attractive, feel of the place. Also, the prices are very reasonable. If you're going for... More

An attractive restaurant in the heart of Saverne’s High Street, it has some outside seating on a decking area at the front and is covered in hanging baskets of flowers. Inside it’s a good size covering two floors and has a cosy ambience with wooden beams on the ceiling and a cuckoo clock on the wall. The menu offers a... More

On a cold January night this restaurant is a godsend. Especially as it is centrally placed and the rest of the very pretty and apparently prosperous town looks a bit dead in the evening at this time of year. The decor leaves you in no doubt as to which region you're in - though maybe the cuckoo clock is from... More

Charming, authentic Alsatian restaurant with a warm, country atmosphere and delicious Alsatian food. The wine list has good samplings of local wines and they also have local beer. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is warm and friendly and yes, they do speak English. We felt very welcome and comfortable there, and that is not always the case... More

Nice restaurant in the middle of town. Friendly service, nice surroundings, good food, and the tallest cheesecake I have ever seen. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table on Saturday night, but was worth the wait. I speak very, very, very little French, but it was no problem ordering or dealing with the staff.

Go for the well-prepared local specialities. Servings are on the generous side, and the food is reasonably-priced. Good Alsatian Pinot Blanc at €19 a bottle.

We visit Saverne regularly with our barge but were less than enammered with this restaurant in the main street. The onion tarte as an entree was nice but the rest of the meal less than average. The choucroute tasted strange and if I'm honest think it came out of a tin! It's got a nice atmosphere but can't compete with... More
