Worth a visit

It is a bit pricy for the area but really good food and great service. the location on the upper floor is also a plus.

Really great Mediterranean food and a lovely owner who comes and engages with you. A really good wine list and very reasonable prices when you compare what you'd pay in the UK

A wonderful location with attentive and considerate staff. Good menu choice but food not up to the standard of the price at which it was offered. A pity really since in all other respects this was a great establishment. Perhaps I was looking for too much having read the reviews in advance of going; perhaps it was disappointment having eaten... Dear 7StevieR Thank you for your review of Absinthe. Permit me to say that we all tend to have our own concept of what is expensive in relation to our personal economy and expectations when we are dining out. Your statement that you have quote, unquote," eaten elsewhere on the islands at considerably cheaper prices but EQUALLY HIGH QUALITY FOOD",... More

This is the best restaurant in Kamares and the best we experienced on all of Sifnos. In a place where you really cannot go wrong Absinthe distinguishes itself with superior service and gourmet cooking with a traditional Greek menu. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and willing to share information on Greece and the island as well the restaurant itself. Every... More

An excellent restaurant and wonderful service from the owner George. My husband and one of our party had the black angus steak and said that it was the best steak that they had eaten in Greece.I had the spicy goat and that too was excellent.

One of our highlights upon returning to Sifnos was to dine here. This remarkable restaurant has offered us in our past visits innovative and great tasting but no-nonsense food, excellent Greek wines and professional service. They always offered a complimentary starter and a digestive or fruit at the end of our meal. The romantic setting and ambiance of this restaurant beats anything that we... We went there for diner. Expect a warm welcome, with a lot of language spoken. The restaurant has a very nice view on Kamares beach. We had tamara salad and feta with honey and sesame. Tamara salad was good but portion was so huge we could not finish it. Feta with honey was just incredibly good !!! We had then... More

Came here because Absinthe is #1 on Tripadvisor. Service was rushed. Food and wine were okay but not exceptional. Nothing exceptional about the location either. The complimentary mastica was not special or unique. Not a good value for average food and experience.

Dear NCTraveler Let me first thank you for your visit to Absinthe and let me say that I am sorry that your dining experience here was"average" in respect to your tastes and expectations. It would have been a great help to us though, had you at least partially described the food you ate here as you did in profound detail... More

Location is good, if you are at the front of the restaurant, further back it gets very warm. Food was a bit hit and miss for us, portions are large and some dishes were distinctly better than others.

Dear erku Thank you for dining at Absinthe. Regarding the discomfort of the temperature when seated further back, permit me to point out that our restaurant consists of 17 tables aligned in 3 rows. Small I would say in regards to other places but all our tables have ample space between them for privacy and comfort. I'm sorry that you... More
