We went here for our wedding dinner, we sat in the gazebo and watched the sunset. It truly was the perfect setting! However... the evening wasn't without its flaws, which were a bit disappointing, but we'd had such a great day that we couldn't be bothered to complain about them at the time. First we were told by one of... more

The restaurant may be a little hard to find, but once you arrive, the effort is well worth it. Variety of dining areas are available, including beach dining. Our table was 5 feet from the water with a clear, star filled night. Skipped the sunset crowd and started our meal at 8:15. Service attentive throughout the evening. Our water glasses... more

Old Man & The Sea is worth the long drive and $25 cab fare. Down the island from both Palm and Eagle Beaches, this restaurant features tables practically in the water, candlelight and fine dining at an exceptional cost. The seafood soup is creamy, but not too heavy and full of shrimp, scallops and lobster. Escargot is buttery and full... more

My husband dined & wined me for our 9th wedding anniversary celebration in June 2009 by reserving the private gazebo. We had the head waiter (Rocky) & he was there when we needed him but not too attentive. The atmosphere was awesome! The saxophone player was great & my husband & I danced under the stars out on our own... more

Admittedly, my husband and I are not seafood eaters, and so we may have missed the point of dining here. However, we expected decent steaks -- which unfortunately were actually flavorless. The restaurant itself is beautiful: a long outdoor hallway, a funky outdoor "lounge," and candle-lit tables scattered on the beach with the ocean gently lapping nearby. Our particular table... more

The food was below average in quality and the service was about the same caliber. The sunset view is obstructed for most of the tables. more

We decided to journey off our all-inclusive resort to have dinner at the Old Man and the Sea with some friends from another resort. I know there are some exceptional ratings here, which was why we were so confused by our experience. The first half of our party arrived for our 8:30 reservations 15 minutes early. We were seated after... more

This was by far my favorite restaurant in Aruba. The ambience was amazing. Very very romantic. Totally beautiful. The menu didn't seem very appealing but the food was excellent. The service could have been a bit better but overall it was fine. Dessert was the only thing I didn't like. Just stay away from the mint chocolate mousse and you... more

This restaurant was the most romantic restaurant I've ever been to. To sit on the beach near the water, with the candles lit and the music playing was amazing and worth it. My husband and I ordered a surf and turf and the bill came out to a little over $200. For the price the food was definately not worth... more

After reading the reviews for The Old Man & The Sea, we were very much looking forward to a romantic dinner during our honeymoon stay in Aruba. While nice, the food and service were a little disappointing... the atmosphere and scenery was beautiful! The service was a bit slow, but attentive. The food was delicious, but not as hot as... more
