Very much a village pub, with a restaurant area towards the back. Initially there seemed to be lots of staff, but when we were seated, we had to wait a while before we were given menus, and then before our order was taken. Another couple, obviously regulars, who had come in after us had their meals served before us. After... More

The moment you walk into a restaurant and see the staff sat eating you know that it isnt a properly run establishment. The barman decided in his time to leave his pasta dish and serve us some drinks. We were then shown to our table, the restaurant had just 4 tables dining, 3 of which were around the waiters sideboard... More

Cosy pub, manager and waitress very welcoming, spent time talking with us. Makes a difference when staff want to be friendly. We had fabulous lunch, food excellent. Look forward to going back for another lunch.

Great service and a lovely Sunday Roast with quite generous portions. We had a lovely time and will definitely go back another day

We use this pub as a lunch stop when travelling South on the M5. It is only 10 minutes off the motorway and does a decent range of sandwiches/baguettes etc as well as proper 3 course pub lunches. It is fine, especially in the summer months when you can sit out next to village green in the sunshine.

Had Saturday lunch here. Food is OK, and to be fair there is a good list of specials available, but overriding impression is a lack of interest. We weren't offered a menu by the barman, waited seemed more interested in cleaning blackboard than taking an order and so on. Go if you are hungry and want something to eat but... More

We went on Saturday evening when it was predictably busy & noisy. Good choice of food with daily specials board. Staff pleasant & welcoming & service quite quick considering how busy they were. Food reasonable value for money but no surprises.

An excellent place to have a later evening meal, nice welcome, good traditional food from a very long, tempting menu - perfect for introducing three Australian cousins to English pub fare! Fish and chips, generous-sized home-made steak pie (with three kinds of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables), huge grilled mushroom with stilton - four of us all cleaned plates - Will... More

Basically a mixed grill consisted of just 3 meats no salad or no beans nothin apart from an egg on top of the meats on the most smallest mixed grill plate I've ever seen... for £17 it was very poor for the price.

I ate at The Bell recently and ordered the fish and chips off their lunch deal menu. The fish was rather small and covered in a soft batter, it may well have been kept warm under a lamp, there certainly wasn't any crispness to it. The chips were fine and the garden peas excellent! I had the apple crumble for... More
