Make time ...

A few hours ago, I met up with a friend for a drink at this pub, we then walked about five miles along the canal towards Sharpness, coming back via the lower swing bridge to an excellent late lunch. I had the quote 'enormous' beer battered cod and chips and my friend had the last lamb shank... read more

We had booked a table for a Friday night which is fish and chip Friday. The Bell has this every week as well as Steak night on Thursdays. The food was a very good standard and great value for money. The staff made me and my family feel welcome and were an absolute delight throughout the evening. I would recommend... More

We were looking for somewhere on a Saturday as we hadn't booked, fortunately there was a table for us. The service was extremely good, the plates hot, there was an excellent variety of food on the menu and a Special Boards as well and was well priced. I really enjoyed the Apple and Pear Crumble, although I don't usually indulge.... More

I had the lamb skewers which were melt in the mouth. The fish and chips were huge too. Lovely location and lovely staff

I couldn't believe the quality of food and service we got for so little money. About four starters, five mains and two puds to chose from. We had one fish-cake starter with generous salad and large, very juicy wedge of lemon; two very adequate baked cod with ratatouille and new potatoes (couldn't finish all the potatoes); and the first brown-bread... We went to the Bell for Mother's day to have an early evening meal. The food was good, but the service was terrible. We were clearly on the 'invisible' table. It took over 30 minutes for them to take our order and they weren't even busy at that time. No one asked us if we wanted more drinks and I... More

We went to the bell for a change as we like to try local places. After looking at the website I saw that they do both a bistro and a restaurant menu and noticed a couple of favourites on the restaurant menu which swung my decision to book. The building is very impressive and its situated looking over a lovely... More

Following a good walk along the canal tow path this was a great place to pick up a late Sunday lunch. Excellent eg of lamb and well prepped veg, great roasties and good, thick gravy. The vegetarian lasagne came with veg AND well cooked chips.. almost too much food and we baulked at a pud. Very welcoming bar staff and... More

This would not normally be our first choice of venue, but as our party was booked by a guest that spoke highly of it, we attended. From reception on arrival to leaving, it was faultless. The staff were inviting and welcoming. 2 people of our party of 4 were residents. They had stayed before and were not disappointed! The food... More
