Not your typical curry house

Went here for a quiet bite to eat and was incredibly surprised by the quality and range of dishes on offer. Really good service, decent wine at a decent price and food as good as Raval in Gateshead. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because parking can be an issue when it's busy and... read more

Weve been to the Cookson Spice a few times and each occasion it's always thoroughly enjoyed. Generously sized starters and generously sized mains but an absolute treat that never disappoints. Nice restaurant atmosphere sometimes not many tables in but this never seems to matter.

Went here on a Friday night with my partner we expected it to be busy but it wasn't in the restaurant. We ordered mixed kebab starters which we're delicious and meat was lovely and tender and just so tasty! For main I decided to order a lamb kohari (I normally try to stay away from lamb as not always cooked... More

This was my second visit to the Cookson Spice. Both times the food has been exceptional, think I would go so far as to say the best Indian meal I have had. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, and the waiters continually polishing the dishes and glasses. Very pleasant staff, and the prices are reasonable too. Food is to a high... More

Have been going here since it opened and you can't go wrong with the quality of food. The 3 course specials are a bargain.

Having heard so much about this place and sampling a take away last year,my wife and I decided to take my daughter and partner to the restaurant. We were not disapointed as the food was delicious and the portions were good. We chose a Thursday night which is special deal night and found it very reasonable. The head waiter was... More
