Great experience

Visited here with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday and had a great time. The food was excellent; tapas being the perfect food to share with friends. Although busy when we arrived we were seated quickly - make sure you book to ensure a table. Great menu which the staff from are well able to run through and explain if you are not sure and make recommendations. All of the dishes that to we chose were very tasty and well presented. I've eaten here alone but also with friends and Hubby, and only at lunchtime, so can't say what it's like in the evenings but each time I've been I have just walked in. It is a former pub; I've no idea why it's called 'Origins', and the name wouldn't entice me in, but the signage is classy, it is a... More

We had a lovely meal at Origins. Great salads and the drink selection has something for everyone. However I was disappointed to be told on enquiry that the mandatory service charge goes to the restaurant and not to the staff who served us. I asked for it to be removed and left a tip instead.

A very enjoyable meal at a restaurant which provides a number of innovative variations on tapas. Among other highlights, the chef's excellent take on Calamari is strongly recommended. The wine list offers variety and realistic prices. Staff were pleasant, informed and efficient. Thanks to all concerned.

Our first visit to Origins will not be our last. The warm atmosphere and friendly attention preceded dishes from an imaginitive menu presented with modern flair. The tapas style portion sizes were excellent and the wine menu served us admirably. There is no draught real ale on offer, but the short range of known bottled beers had something to please.... Visited this restaurant on a wet and windy lunch time and found it full. The staff said we could eat at the bar which we were happy with. Due to the staff being very busy it did take about 10 minutes to get our order in and a bit longer to get the food. The food was OK. For the... More

Every now and then Origins puts on something special with new tasting menu and fine wines selected to go with each course. A great selection of starters, seafood, beef, pork and fish followed by perfectly made and excellent tasting dessert. Hopefully we will some of these new dishes making an appearance on future new menus! Another great value night.

We went for a quick tapas lunch, and we're very impressed by the imaginative menu, neat tidy decor and friendly staff. The service was excellent, and the food was lovely. We particularly appreciated he chef's willingness to be flexible over the dessert sharing platter. Would definitely return, with the rest of the family
