Day 3 into our 10 day break in lovely Cabanas. We had to visit another backstreet favourite....restaurante A Fonte. It was very quiet...we were the only 2 souls dining...though we didnt arrive till About 8.30pm. We tend to have our favourite dishes and at A Fonte its the portugese steak for him & the duck in honey sauce for me.... More

We ate here on the second night of our visit to Cabanas. The food was very good though slightly more expensive than most places we ate in . While this was not a big issue the big problem was that the restaurant was understaffed - we waited ages as a couple however there were some groups who came in well... More

We visited La Fonte on our first night. Had fish kebabs which were absolutely delicious and a bottle of Muralhas Vinho Verde. The waiter made a big fuss of our son and gave him a balloon. Didn't visit again as we found cheaper places but the food was very nice.

Yes it's off the main walk, yes it's a little bit more expensive but you get what you pay for! Great great food and made feel very welcome. If you want a good meal to finish off a great holiday or want that one special night, then this is the place by far!

Fantastic steaks on stone. We tried both sirloin & entrecote. So nice we had to come back for the seafood cataplana :) with green wine.

I dont want to be too mean here as the staff are very nice - but the meal was let down by a small wine list with all the wines about €15 out of stock. They did try to come up with some alternatives but they weren't good. The food itself was adequate. Good clams with a nice sauce, but... More

This restaurant is set in a quiet street and tends to be less crowded that others located in the main street. Service was good, customer minded (this is not always the case during the summer in several Cabanas' restaurants), although started to slowdown as other tables become filled. Food is not spectacular, we had have better meals in Cabanas for... More

We have always visited this restaurant when on holidays in cabanas. Whether it is seafood or steak, the presentation and taste are superb. We've never seen the place too busy, the service is good and children are made feel very welcome. On this holiday, we saved our visit here until or last night and I'm glad we did because if... More

We had come across this restaurant a day earlier, and had a chat with the owner and chef. We decided to pop in the following evening. The menu has plenty of choice, including local dishes, seafood and of course fresh fish. I was dying to have the Cataplana and these did not disappoint ! The "Algarve" one was rich with... More

Funny wee family restaurant. Decor is spotless if rather strange. Many colourful fake flowers and 1970s knick knacks. However our food was impeccable. Octopus salad starter was tasted and looked beautiful. Monkfish Cataplanas was generous with added clams and whole prawns. The stock was a proper shellfish reduction, rich and deep flavoured. House wine at 12€ more expensive than others... More
