The Boathouse, Parkgate overlooks the Dee Estuary and has a welcoming atmosphere. We called in for lunch and were not disappointed. An extensive menu provided a good choice. We had scampi and a salmon fillet and it was delicious! Simple yet beautifully cooked and presented by very attentive staff. Give it a try and take a walk along the front... More

First of when we were seated the waitress said that there were many items on the menu that were not available and began to identify them by placing a pen mark beside them on the menu. Though this was helpful I didn't think that it set us of properly. We were celebrating our anniversary and I had to get a... More

Called in on way back from Liverpool on a glorious sunny day, and managed to get a table outside looking over the view. There were lots of dogs there, and they were also allowed in the bar where you could eat as well. Good selection of real ales, I had the Piffle from Conwy brewery, and the others had the... More

The staff make an effort to please and all had the right attitude, The food was well cooked and fresh. We had the lobster £23 which had been removed from the main body/shell and mixed with a light garlic/cream sauce and then put back in the shell and grilled. The fat chips were satisfactory but first came just warm and... More

Went for a Friday night evening meal here as they were offering a 2 for 1 main meal deal. I had the fish of the day which was beautifully cooked and my husband had the lamb shank which was huge with vegetables and a lovely gravy. Very good value as 2 for 1. Also good real ale. Nice touch that... More

Celebrating a family birthday, we booked a table at the Boathouse for Thursday lunch, which was essential owing to its popularity. Although the food service appeared to be very slow, either to a shortage of staff to cope with the number of tables or to delay the orders to give the kitchen a chance to keep up, when the food... Visited this restaurant for the first time recently as my wife and I were staying in the area. I read the reviews on TA and we were not disappointed. I had the pulled pork spring rolls and Ham Hock. No exaggeration but I reckon the Ham would have fed four people and it was delicious. We were planning on having... More
