Stopped for a mid week pub lunch when it was quiet. Fortunately the sun was shining so the decking area was open and we had the pleasure of wonderful views across the Dee estuary. Good menu choice with sandwiches, light bites and a full a la carte. We opted to share a sandwich, duck wraps and some truffle/Parmesan chips. Everything... More

I really love this restaurant because it is particularly good for people with disabilities, like my mum. Staff are very friendly and understanding. There are fantastic views and the food is excellent. My 87 year old man can find simple things that she likes whilst I really enjoy the high standard of cuisine. I can never get further than ordering... More

Hard to fault this place, lovely inside very friendly staff and the most amazing views across the estuary. Stopped for lunch had a rump steak which was cooked well and a fine piece of meat, as well as being a fair price. Tuesday afternoon, but the place was buzzing, pretty much fully booked up. One minor complaint? I ended up... More

Visited the Boathouse after a day at Chester Races. The staff were very attentive, time between courses was really good and the quality of the food was excellent. Several of our party selected from the fish menu and all were delighted with what they got. Definitely worth a visit.

3 off us had lunch there today. The food was very tasty, the service was excellent and the setting over looking the Dee Estuary was beautiful. We all enjoyed our visit, and would be happy to eat there again.

We were given a table next to the window overlooking the Dee Estuary the view was fantastic, it is a shame that the food did not match it. the whitebait was rather limp with no flavour and the mixed grill looked if it had been put the deep fat fryer first and put on the griddle to make it look... We had a superb Sunday lunch here. Food was fabulous, the beer which is brewed for this small chain was lovely. I loved that they knew who had order what and did not need to ask who the starters or main were for. Staff were very pleasant. All round nice experience.

We called here on a very very wet day and were greeted with a warm welcome, waited a couple of minutes for a table which was well worth the wait as we had a fantastic table by a huge picture window with a view over the Dee estuary, my wife had summer vegetable soup and myself deep fried whitebait, both... This pub features in Good Pub and Good Beer guides and fully deserves to. We chose it because the carpark was rammed (usually a good sign) and although we hadn't booked - and they were busy - they promised a table within 15 minutes and kept to their word. The beers were very good and we were lucky to find... More
