This restaurant is in a lovely setting with views over the Dee estuary to Wales. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was good. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Will definitely return and recommend friends and family.

We visited the Boathouse on Saturday 17/01/2015 with friends and family for a birthday celebration, the staff were lovely and we all had a most enjoyable meal in very pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended.

We visited today for lunch on the spur of the moment and were not disappointed. I can heartily recommend the salmon and risotto. Staff were very helpful and polite. We will return.

This is the graveyard period, post Christmas/New Year for many restaurants. My wife and I went for dinner this stormy evening having pre-booked and we were really surprised how busy The Boathouse was. We had a lovely 2 courses meal. Both had chicken liver pate with toasted focaccia and chutney to start (£5.95 each). Wife had sea bass fillet baked in... More

Called and booed a table for New Year's Day. I was told that I had to be specific with time and also be on time as they would be very busy. I turned up at 2.30 on the 1st Jan and the place was in darkness? Chairs were still on tables and the place looked abandoned. Called several times but... More

Visited whilst walking one Sunday in January. Restaurant was fully booked so had to eat in Bar area. Sadly my first choice of Flat Iron Steak was un-available so I had the roast beef Sunday Roast. Very nice. The beef would have been nicer if it was still slightly pink rather than well done. Came with a good selection of... More

Have visited the Boathouse many times and have never been disappointed. The food was as good as ever however we thought the service was slower this time. The restaurant was not that busy to justify the wait. The staff were lovely, always smiling and appeared to happy at their work. We will definitely return and continue to recommend the restaurant... One of the nicest experiences we have had when eating out in the last few months. The Boat House gives the impression of being very well managed. It is shining-clean; the 1930 tables are a delight. The mussells were well liked. The prawn cocktail came with two buttered slices of brown bread, according to the tradition. The high point was... More

We eat here now and again and five attended on this occasion for lunch. Although the restaurant was very busy with Xmas lunch diners, we attended for a family get together not having the Xmas dinner on this occasion. Can I say that even though it was busy service was excellent. This is the type of restaurant that being next... More

We have eaten at The Boathouse on many occasions, especially when using their Special Offer vouchers, and always enjoy the food and excellent service I had lunch there last week with a large group of ladies and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff were most helpful and attentive.
