Having just returned from a meal at the Turks I must say I was not impressed. We both had the carvery, the meat was lovely, veg hard, stuffing dry, gravy glupy and translucent. Not impressed at all by the waitress, disinterested and slow, had to ask for specials board and as I left saw her clean the next table spaying... More

We returned to the Turks Head expecting the same good food and service as our last visit, unfortunately we found that the Inn had changed hands although some of the staff were the same, the food was good large portions but not excellent quality as our last visit, the cask beer was very disappointing having ordered a pint of Jail... Whilst on holiday around Weymouth, we were looking for food, only to find time after time, pubs only selling food 'til 2.30. Then we saw The Turks Head, and decided to try there. Great relief to be told they serve food all day, and a car very 'til 2.30 We were too late for the car very, so ordered from... More

This is our local pub"restaurant and the staff knew it was our anniversary. We asked Mark Pollard the chef if we could have a special fish dish.. What we got was amazing, fresh crab infused with mint tea sat in a poppadum, champagne flute filled with a delicious chilli crab pate, Parma ham covered king prawns, salmon a heart shaped... More

Would recommend this restaurant. We used to use it many years ago and had heard it had changed hands. Holidaying in Weymouth we thought we would give it a try "for old times sake". We were very impressed. Very accommodating for the whole family. A good menu and all perfectly cooked. The friendly staff were very eager to please and... More

We booked a table over the Bank holiday weekend for a large group (12, I think). It was booked on the day so it was good to get in as the pub was busy. Most of us ate from the carvery which had a selection of 4 meats. Having been diving all weekend we were all extremely hungry. The generous... More

A party of 6 visited here at lunch time, it was recommended to us and we were not disappointed, I had Fish & Chips and they were superb, the other 5 meals looked equally as good, the service was good and the prices were average. I would go again.

It was bank holiday Sunday and expected, extremely busy. All tables were booked but the manageress kindly managed to find us a table in the bar area. We had the carvery which was delicious and excellent value for money. What I couldn't quite get my head around was the attitude of one totally obnoxious local man who had not booked... More

Not a lot of atmosphere the service ok and the manager seemed to be on to the staff quickly if things were not quite right as was the case with a couple of issues we had. The food was very good with large portions. About average value for money.

We booked up for a carvery but when walked in no-one was being served on the carvery so it was unattended and all meats uncovered and flys were landing on it. We said about it at the bar and they went off to ask when new meat was coming out and were told its not long been changed and just... More
