'Our 16th Century Coaching Inn commands an enviable position, conveniently situated on the main A35 where Devon & Dorset meet, between the bustling market town of Axminster, and the beautiful seaside town of Lyme Regis, the gateway to the Jurassic Coast.Neville & I along with our fantastic team, have worked very hard over the past 12 years to ensure that everyone who passes through our door can enjoy a fabulous range of home cooked traditional Pub Fayre - from sandwiches & light lunches through to super steaks sourced locally by our Butcher Duncan, from Honiton,& fresh fish from West Bay, Portland and Brixham. Come and enjoy a meal with us in clean, warm & comfortable surroundings. We offer an extensive menu with something for everyone, along with daily homemade specials and fabulous fresh homemade desserts. We have 3 separate dining areas and can cater for a total of 80 persons, or functions of up to 40 in our restaurant. We are proud of our 5 star food hygiene rating from East Devon District Council and also of our Tripadvisor reviews and seal of excellence for 2013 & 2014.We have extensive parking, are doggie friendly, and have large gardens & play area - families are most welcome. We are sure you will enjoy your visit to The Hunters Lodge and very much look forward to welcoming you!

Great service and food

This pub has had a make over, what a difference. It is clean, bright and airy. The menu is good and the staff are friendly and efficient. Booking is now essential to avoid disappointment. The food was cooked to perfection and was hot. Will definately be returning.

Quick, friendly service. Lovely, good value food in homely surroundings. Made us feel extremely welcome after an arduous journey in apalling weather. Staff, very attentive. We were looked after well, even though the pub was very busy. Couldn't fault our experience there.

We had driven down from Southampton, on our way to Uplyme in 'monsoonal' weather and were in real need of rest and recuperation. It was good to be able to take the dog into the 'children and games' room. Sadly our welcome was a little 'frosty'. Appreciating we had not booked we were told 'quite bluntly' there would be a... there were 8 of us, 6 adults, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. The menu catered for everybody. The specials board was varied and all the food was delicious. The staff were excellent, even though they were, in fact, short staffed. They are obviously well used to children as we were asked if we'd like their meals... More

A very popular 16th century coaching inn, with a large varied menu, plus a Specials board. Dogs were welcome in the bar and there is WiFi. Nice, well kept garden and patio where you can eat and small children can play on garden activities. Excellent lamb shank, well cooked hake and I had a beetroot risotto with baked goats cheese....
