..we were due to meet and eat with friends..most had come from all parts of the country..what we discovered was a pub that served an excellent array of drinks as well as a menu that, despite being quite small, gave us all something to enjoy..the fish was magnificent, which was expected when we were so close to the coast..the staff... Nice restaurant - I wouldn't call it a pub as it's too formal and the recent redecorations reinforce this restaurant approach. Lovely service behind bar again quite formal but kind enough for second time in a row to tell us they'd be a 30 to 40 minute wait for food. The food when served is acceptable but not worth the... Thank you for taking the time to write another review. We have read your comments with interest. Our Main Bar was decorated last June, and was something we had been saving up for for a number of years. I have visited many pubs all over the country and found that in recent years many have been renovated and decorated to... More

Stopped on the off chance as it was late lunch time and we just wanted a quick snack. Very friendly greeting and our snacks were very good. It is a family run pub and they obviously take pride in what they do.

Very warm welcome and comfortable seating. Sunday lunch menu and we sampled the Turkey Port and Beef all the meats were excellent tasty well cooked and ample portions. Road potatoes and spiced mash superb. A good selection of greens the carrots and beans could have done with a little longer (verging on the raw) depends on your teeth. I wonder... More

Had a lovely family meal at the Hunters Lodge. Good varied menu plus a specials board and a very good children's menu too which wasn't just the usual run of the mill fish fingers or sausage and chips. Our fussy 11 year old asked at the end of the meal if we could come back again soon. Praise indeed. Staff... More

I visited this inn as a member of a society group for a Christmas lunch. The staff were very friendly and efficient, with all the meals being served simultaneously, not always the case with a large group, The food was good and delicious. We also thought it was good value and the premises had attractive Christmas decorations. A very successful... More

After about a decade of driving past this pub/restaurant , I finally had the time to stop for lunch. Thank you so much for stopping! I often joke with folks and say 'if I had a pound for every time someone tells me they have driven past for years without coming in' I would be retired by now! But, on a serious note - thank you, and thank you for taking the time to review. It is much appreciated,... More
