Fantastic restaurant - highly recommend it !

We found this restaurant after moving to the area in April and it's a firm favourite now. The restaurant is filled with Americana and owned by a lovely Texan lady. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend the burgers and the milkshakes :-)

A regular at this wonderful establishment run by an American Lady called Gina her husband and some part time staff. The american memorabilia on the walls are fantastic, combing a DVD rental store with a cafe/restaurant and food available throughout the day. The sundae's are amazing and I am yet to try the famous burgers that all my friends keep... More

Had lunch here last week and it was great! Route 66 is an eclectic mix with the main entrance housed DVDs for rent and then in the next room is where you sit to eat. The place is not very big & I think this is part of its charm. The portion sizes were HUGE! My husband ordered the Vegas... More

An American style restaurant serving American style food surrounded by an eclectic mix of photos, badges and random Americana. The breakfast menu looks classic but we were there in the early evening. The ribs were tender and covered in thick barbecue sauce. The meat in the Mexicana burger was thick and felt like it contained a very high proportion of... More

It's good don't get me wrong but it nothing special ... It's slight upgrade to weather spoons ... There more choice ... The setting is nice and comfortable seating . Just don't expect gourmet or bistro ... It's got a good selection of American style food Burgers are meaty and juicy .

Amazing nachos - the chicken was a massive standout and so much cheese :) We had two burgers - three cheese and the Route 66 burger both of which were extremely tasty. The bun was so soft and again very tasty. The chips were great - soft and crispy - and a perfect sized portion. My boyfriend had the oreo... More

I have eaten here a few times and it's always be great. Generous portions that fast fab. The milkshake is the best ever! Clean, comfortable and quirky. Try it!

You don't need to travel thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean to experience a sample of American atmosphere and cuisine; just try Route 66 in Axminster. Don't let the size or location put you off, and you might need to book in the summer season, especially if there are more than two in your party. I have eaten in... More

Axminster does not have a lot of choice when it comes to finding somewhere to eat, so it was a welcome relief to find an unpretentious slightly-diner-style place. The food was good if unexciting, they have tried hard to be authentic/"different" with the décor, but they need to try harder with the ventilation.
