Lovely location

Beautiful surroundings, good food and if you can go on a sunny day and get a table on the balcony it's ideal overlooking the sea

Nice pub with beautiful view. Great spot for a pint of real ale or any other drink, with a nice weather you can seat outside, especially when you have a dog. Lunch menu is a bit pricey and meals are average - plus for the fresh fish, but big minus for absolutely no choice for vegetarians.

We stayed for a week in Craster and ate here several times, both for lunch and dinner, in the bar and in the restaurant. It was always busy, but the staff were always pleasant and helpful and the choice and quality of the food were excellent. Delicious crab sandwiches or a bowl of mussels washed down with a well-kept pint... More

On recommendation we called at the jolly fisherman to sample one of their famous crab sandwiches only to find they weren't serving food for another 45 minutes and then it would be only a limited hot food menu. It was Sunday so maybe it's diffeent other days. So we had a drink and enjoyed the beautiful views

The pub has a great location overlooking the sea, and it serves some fine real ales and has a good selection of wine. We only ate a light lunch so cannot comment on the main menu. We did try the 'Famous' crab sandwiches. Famous? Perhaps for being over priced, under-filled, and totally without flavour. Maybe we were unlucky, but £7... More

Thank you for your comment regarding the crab sandwiches. They should have been filled with sufficient crab so apologies if this was not so. The bread we use is a thick sliced brown bread. The crab mix is an old recipe that has been served for over 20 years with no changes as we would be shooting ourselves in the... More

We came here on a sunny day at 1pm so it was a busy day, we ordered food & was warned of a wait which we didn't mind as the views of Donstanbargh Castle were spectacular. The food came reasonably quickly, my husband had the famous crab sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed, I ordered the fish cakes which had run... More

A group of Four of us went to Jolly Fisherman, whilst we were holidaying in northumbria, We arrived about 12.15 pm and decided to eat sooner rather than later, which proved to be a wise decision we were very lucky and managed to get both cars parked outside on the parking spaces , and went in Sit anywhere we were... We visited the Jolly Fisherman after walking to Dunstanburgh Castle during our May bank holiday break this year; and were happily surprised by the quality of food and the service. From the outside, the Jolly Fisherman looks like a fairly average pub. However, once inside it manages to provide both a pub and restaurant atmosphere. The restaurant is separate from... More

Staying in Craster and wanted to eat locally... Not much choice! Walked there through a real downpour arriving just before 5.30 and only one table available in the bar where we had to sit because we had a dog. The menu good but expensive which I think is because there is little competition. Sue and I the Three Sausage meal... More
