Great find on the Norhumberland costal route

This pub is a popular and busy place. We arrived around 1.45pm. Ordered at the bar and were lucky to find a table in the upper level looking out towards the sea. We had a fairly long wait of around 50 minutes from ordering and paying at the bar until the food was delivered. It was well worth the... read more

We rented a cottage for a week just a few metres up the hill and this pub served us very well indeed for a couple of evening meals, Sunday lunch and a fantastic midweek lunch of crab sandwiches & beef dripping chips out on the glass balcony, overlooking the sea, after a walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. Can't fault it. It's... More

We were looking forward to returning to the Jolly Fisherman on the first night of our visit to Craster and we were not disappointed. Despite being told there could be a wait for food, we were not waiting too long at all and, if anything, the atmosphere and quality of food had stepped up in the three years since our... More

Superb pub in incredible position that serves brilliant food and keeps an excellent pint. What more could you want. Unlike the Ship Inn further down the coast the J F has blossomed over the years and can cope with the visitors that enjoy this magnificent coastline. Good seating capacity inside and out and an attractive terrace balcony for couples loking... More

We have just been to this pub/restaurant for lunch. The view from the restaurants "upper deck" is magnificent, over the harbour and sea. The food was superb, and the chips which are cooked in the old traditional way, in beef dripping, are fantastic. They taste just like your granny used to make. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

We visit Craster at least once every year on our summer coastal walk. Sometimes for lunch and sometimes just for a drink or even coffee. It is always a happy family place. The food is good, particularly the speciality crab sandwiches. Expect it to be very busy in the school holidays- it is very family friendly. A visit to Craster... More

Popped in for a drink and thought it was a lovely place and had a great atmosphere. So we decided to eat, couldn't get a place in the restaurant as it was all booked, but could eat in the bar. It was fantastic food, ended up having 3 courses. Great staff, great place, great food, what a find!

This lovely small dog friendly village pub on the Northumbrian coast north of Alnwick and near Dunstanborough Castle produces a wide range of local freshly cooked sea food but much more, for both lunch times and evenings. All can be washed down with Timothy Taylor's beer so it doesn't get much better than this. Highly recommended

Having heard fabulous things about this pub in the beautiful Craster, myself and my wife decided to drive up from Gosforth. Having parked up we arrived at 5pm, we asked if food was being served and were told the evening menu was about to start at 5.30, perfect we thought. The barman kindly gave us the menu to look at... We've enjoyed two great meals in this restaurant over the last month and we've already booked for next month. An exciting menu with all dishes being executed to perfection. It's a busy restaurant but the staff always attentive - would recommend a visit if you're in the area.
