A fantastic pub with lovely character. The food was just amazing - I would highly recommend the Deep fried chilli squid special! Very speedy service, even on a busy Christmas Eve lunchtime.

If you are a fish foodie then this is the place for you. There are a wide variety of fresh fish dishes all reasonable priced. Staff are attentive and as it is a pub there are many good quality beers; you can sup these while you look out to sea from the restaurant while you wait for the delicious meal... More

I have just returned from a stay in the lovely Northumberland coastal retreat known as Craster. During the stay we visited a beautiful seafront pub called the Jolly fisherman, situated at the heart of the village. We dined on a variety of starters from the lunch time menu which were filling and excellent, especially the seafood platter. Doesn't look a... More

We visited here because we had read rave reviews about its food. We stuck to seafood as its right on the coast (and has great views). Food was disappointing and no one seemed interested when we pointed that out, starters were fine but the mains were the problem. Not cheap when you add beer, wine and soft drinks especially if... After a lovely walk through Dunstanburgh castle stumbled into the Jolly Fisherman. Tremendous food and service. Lovely beer. Highly recommended.

I've been coming here for years. Originally, it was a bit tatty but those views from what once were grubby-looking but were actually rime covered windows, made up for a lot. As did the pub grub. Kipper pate and toast Melba. Crab broth with whisky. Always busy, it's now heaving with walkers and tourists. Its brighter and the windows are... More

What a great find in this pretty little Northumberland coastal fishing village situated within a short walk of Dunsdenburgh Castle's majestic ruins (National Trust) and is right next to the Heritage Coastal Path. Very popular with walkers and visitors, this welcoming pub has been recently refurbished (c 2 years ago) rustic wooden floors and tables and a raised area with... More

Having heard of this Pub's reputation, I had to try it! I drove 100 miles round trip from a holiday home in Hexham and was not disappointed! As it was lunch time we decided to go for their famous Crab sandwich, it was superb, the tastiest Crab I have had. The atmosphere was excellent with stunning sea views from the... More

This is a delightful pub with amazing views and a very well organised kitchen. To turn over 150 covers on a Sunday takes an excellent head chef and they certainly have one here . I ate twice at the weekend with friends and family and we all agree it would be very hard to beat. Little things could be improved... More

Was taken by my daughter and son in law for Sunday lunch on a changeable day. The restaurant was by the sea and our table had a panoramic view of the same. The food was excellent. A cut above the usual Sunday pub lunch. Beef- tender,Yorkshire pud large and tasty- unusual combination of roast veg- delicious and really good gravy. As... More
