I was invited for a meal by a friend . We had a glass of wine, a fish platter and a coffee. All were very good and reasonably priced. l enjoyed the sea views from our table and if the weather is good enough in future, will sit outside. The only detraction for me, is having to order every course from... We booked this pub/restaurant several weeks prior to our trip to northumberland not realising we'd been here previously about 5 years ago for a drink when it was a scutty pub. How the place has changed! Its still a pub but has a raised restaurant area to the rear that overlooks a fantastic sea view! The staff were very friendly,... More

Really wanted to go here as heard good reviews and the location is wonderful. However I need a gluten free diet and they could not offer me any GF bread and were not willing to offer an alternative to the bread, so I had a bowl of very tasty crab soup with no bread but still had to pay full... Very good sandwich lunch. Local crab and fish. Can be crowded but then it would be. Lovely views. Good service. Not keen on the wooden boards rather than plates.

A helpful member of staff found us a table on a Friday evening. Surroundings and atmosphere are relaxed. Great views out to sea and along the coastline to Dunstanburgh castle. The meal was pretty good. Not perfect, but very acceptable and well served.

We often call at The Jolly Fisherman and sample the food on offer, the premises have undergone a total refurbishment which has been done in a tasteful style and makes an inviting location for a lunch or dinner. As a dog friendly pub it gets our vote and after a enjoyable coastal walk from Boulmer in the grey North Sea... More

After walking from Craster down to the castle, and before we walked further south along the coast, we came in to try some of the seafood that this area is known for! The Jolly Fisherman has some outdoor seating above the water, and on a cold day you can just admire the coastline out the big windows. In terms of... More

Book or you'll be disappointed this is a very busy palce for sunday lunch! Went for lunch on sunday and had the seafood platter which was excellent. My wife had the fishcakes which must have been made fresh because we had a half hour wait but it was worth it.

Having visited the Jolly Fisherman several times over the years, I now think the only thing famous about the crab sandwich is the price !, even these days I think £7.95 is a bit steep for a sandwich. The service is good as is the surroundings, the quality is OK but not at their prices. I don't think we will... More
