Used to go here regularly in the mid 80s (while posted to RAF Boulmer) when the insides were a little more rustic. It's scrubbed up really well. The staff very attentive and the food is delicious. As it was half term, we were advised to book a table for the evening as they were very busy. Will have spectacular views... More

Had a lovely lunch on a family road trip. Luckily there was no wind on a beautiful but cold February day, so could just about indure lunching outside. No mean feat in the North of England in February. Worth it all for the amazing view and scrummy crab soup and sandwiches. Can't say I love the Flying Fox's sour dough... More

Lovely location and delicious seafood selection. The fish platter made a lovely shared starter. My main of tempura battered scallops and monkfish was excellent, my comrades were delighted with their selections of salmon Wellington, sea bream and rabbit+chicken pie. We will be back ....

Disappointing crab sandwiches. Having read the reviews we planned our day to come here for lunch. The setting is fab as is the decor. The staff welcolming and friendly. However we expected our sandwiches to be fuller with crab to the edges and on not on 'sliced' bread with a ramekin of crisps and a small salad, quite poor for... More

It's very unusual indeed to find a pub with a traditional snug bar with an open fire and good beer attached to a dining room in a fairly modern style with large windows overlooking the sea a few yards away but that is what you have here.I imagine it is mobbed in the summer but it was pleasantly quiet in... Always enjoy a great meal at the Jolly - have always chosen fish which has never disappointed. Like the atmosphere and choice of wine too.

After strolling along the cliff face in Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle and back, we were in need of a good meal. Smelling the smoked fish in the smoke house opposite, we decided to stop at The Jolly Fisherman as it looked, well...rather jolly! Our table was right in front of the sea which at 5.30pm in February was looking rather... More

Popped in for a drink and a sandwich - thought We'd try the crab sandwich. Very nice on fresh brown bread. Pub is dog friendly which is great and in a good location after the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. Obviously can get very busy. Prices are quite high for what you get and service isn't particularly brilliant but all in... More
