We called in on the off-chance of getting a table for two and were squeezed in between servings. We chose fresh haddock and chips and I'm happy to report, these were the best fish and chips we have ever had! The haddock was fresh and beautifully flakey and the chips had a golden, crunchy exterior whilst fluffy on the inside.... More

Our third visit to this gem of a restaurant did not disappoint: fantastic local seafood & sea views, a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. All year round we dreamed of the starters, especially salmon & guacamole roulade and the trio of fish pâtés. Vanessa, the lovely manager, has created a truly special place. We're already looking forward to our next... More

Having had a lovely walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and along the coastal path and back we decided to try a spot of lunch in here. The waitress was lovely and sat us by the window. My husband had Crater kippers with unusual breads. I had the trio of fish pâtés which were absolutely delicious and really beautifully presented. The side... More

As quality kippers are somwhat thin on the ground in Zimbabwe we drove to Craster specially from Newcastle to buy some kippers from the smokehouse. As it was lunchtime we called in for lunch. We were seated promptly at a table by the window by a very friendly waitress. I had a pair of kippers with artisan seeded brown bread... More

After a walk along the coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle we felt in need of a nice lunch and we found it at The Craster Seafood restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but as we arrived early we were lucky enough to be given a window table with great views . As it was lunch time we chose the trio... More

Good food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Chef is Brazilian and there are some great Brazilian dishes on the menu.

We first went to this restaurant 12-15 years ago and were pleased to find that it still offers wonderful fish dishes. The salmon and crab roulade starter is not to be missed nor are the kippers smoked in smoke house next door. The only downside is the difficulty in booking a table as you have to leave a message. However,... More

We went to the restaurant on a Friday night. We chose a fish pate starter to share- lovely mix of flavours, and just the right start for the meal. We chose a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet for the meal, which paired up well with the three different fish dishes we chose for the mains. The food alone is worth... More

This is a lovely little fishing village which gets crowded in summer, weekends and school holidays. Maybe best to book this restaurant. It was a sunny Friday when we went and managed to be seated straight away. A table next to the window with lovely views over the harbour and Dunstanburgh Castle along the coastal path. The waitress took our... More
