I keep coming back to Le Trappiste for several reasons : - it serves good beers and traditional Belgian dishes (try the Carbonnade, for instance) - the staff are highly efficient and very pleasant - it is comfortable, without being pompous - it is a place where regulars go - it is a good bit of genuine Brussels This is... Ate with work colleague and enjoyed moule with chips and a glass of lager. Rather hurried staff and tricky to get the bill however food was reasonable. 40euro for two so probabaly not bad for Eurocrats.

Saw some good reviews on TA for this place, and it was not far from our hotel, but we were really disappointing. Aside from the frozen chips and not very inspiring menu, I knocked over a glass on our table... embarrassing, but it happens! Unfortunately the waiter made a huge grumpy fuss and made me feel very unwelcome. Not one... More

Cool place to go and grab a beer, or even eat something. Full of people, Nice waiters, very quick service. We had an exquisite vegetarian mixed dish and a salmon with bernaise sauce. Everything tasty and we were able to eat in one hour without saying the waiter we were in hurry!! The cherry in the cake: I left something... More

This is a nice place, it has good food, and the service was okay. The problem is this area has a lot of very nice places to eat & drink and this is not the nicest one, it is also a little more expensive than it looks. So, worth a try... but only if you have already tried the others!... More

It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, very very expensive, reminds me of those dodgy Angus steak houses in the west end of London. Very old and tired concept, the food is just average but seriously expensive, and they really don't know how to cook a steak

I went here once beacause of my job and i would not suggest it to anyone. The food quality was not the best i tasted during my life. Meat seemed to be unfrozen and tasteless. To me it's a trap for tourists...and sometimes for workers.

Good, simple food, okay prices, good Belgian service, however, the place is being renovated right now, so looking forward to the reopening of the place.

I'm gonna make it short and clear : - good beers - food quite good - traditional belgian brasserie atmosphere Down side : - quite overpriced for what you get - the staff is quite rude - The staff makes you feel unwelcome - the staff makes you feel like bothering them if you call them to order something.
