We had excellent food, sitting in a beautiful location alongside the river on a warm June evening. Nearly everything was very good although my wife's entree which was a deconstructed vegetable tart was lacking in flavour and seasoning but the evening was spoiled by the poor service. There were plenty of staff around and early in the evening they were... More

The food was perfectly pleasant, but just not worth the Michelin star, the price, and the trek out to the little town just for dinner. Staff was friendly, albeit just a smidge awkward. The lovely river view I'd seen on the website wasn't visible in the dark, and I bet lunch with a lighter menu and that view would make... More

We have been visiting Le Moulin du Roc several times a year for almost 20 years. Although we have visited in the evening, our preference is to visit at lunchtime and partake of the "formule déjeuner" which has always been exceptionally good and excellent value. This year, due to a hectic schedule at home we didn't give our full attention... More

Dear Guest, We thank you for your opinion, which is very important for us. We are very sorry to know your disappointing concerning your last visit to our restaurant. We must say that in a certain way we may understand, because our choice is not really to pretend to do something better than our former lunch set menu "Formule déjeuner",... More

We have visited here in the evening and at lunch time. The meals are of a very good standard and the price reflects this. It is less expensive at lunchtime. The service is a little pretentious but the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit, give yourself plenty of time.

This restaurant was recommended by someone who lives in the area, so I booked a table for five, not realizing we were talking Michelin stars here. Thank God our children did not wear cut-off jeans but had decided to dress for dinner. The setting on the water is delightful. Unfortunately rain was expected so we just had the aperitive on... More

A lovely restaurant in the Dordogne countryside. The setting is marvelous and at least the room we stayed in had a cute little balcony overlooking the stream and miss. Very charming a perfect for a romantic get-away. The prices are a bit steep - but the food is excellent. It's not super-sophisticated for a Michelin one-star - but it holds... More

Its a dream that you can walk down the road from your house to have lunch in one of the best restaurants I've eaten at! Beautiful and picturesque on the river. We managed to have lunch on the terrace this visit which was lovely (last few times we have had to eat inside because of the weather), nicely shaded, table... More

Visited for lunch/dejeuner in july after reading about it in the Michelin Guide, so ofcourse, my expectations were high. First of all, the restaurant is situated in the most beautiful scenery with a georgious view over a small lake that flows beneath a river. So, "love at first sight" as they say. We got seated and ordered a glass of... More

The some, ier who is serving wine to wring table and sweats bullets while running around the terrace, is not worth 1Michelin star. Food was sitting in the kitchen long enough to get cold. Really nothing fancy.

George took us to the Moulin du Roc, Brantome , in fact it is set just outside in a village called Champagnac de Belair in a glorious position amongst excellently kept gardens. The water mill still works, thundering round under the weight of the tempestuous river that is near on overflowing due to the recent uncharacteristic rain for this time... More
