Gastronomic highlight in an exquisite setting

The setting on the Dronne River is a perfect setting to enjoy excellent cuisine, meticulous service especially from the Sommelier. Argentinian barbecue meets French style cuisine results in perfectly prepared beef that surpassed any beef dish we had previously encountered in France.

Never does Moulin de Roc disappoint, was a little apprehensive as we took friends who had only ever heard us rave about the restaurant and recent reviews have been mixed about the new lunch menu. I thought the new style lunch menu was less formal on paper than the previous set menu, but the food was as fabulous as always.... More

By far one of the most beautifully presented, most delicious meals I've ever experienced. We began with Champagne on the terrace served foie gras on toast. Moving to the restaurant terrace we were seated overlooking the garden with views of the foot bridge and tennis courts. We wanted our meal to consist of the many wonderful foods local to the... The ambiance is very beautiful and it is certainly a nice restaurant. With that being said, the disappointment I felt in my entree has become a running joke. I ordered the black truffle pasta--which sounded amazing in the description but was a bland dry heap of pasta with what appeared to be canned, flavorless truffles and a slab of foie... More

We stayed here for a night in August,& Ican only describe the whole experience as fantastic. The location of the hotel & restaurant is by the river Dronne, with tranquil terrace together with a very relaxing atmosphere. As the hotel is an old water mill the interier is a bit quirky, but very well appointed and decorated sympatheticaly. The food is of Michelin... More

We have visited this restaurant innumerable times over the past 10 years and never been disappointed with the food, the service, the ambience, in fact we have loved it and it has been our favourite and most recommended restaurant for years. We went last night and what a disappointment! They have increased the prices but decreased the level of service.... More

The position of this hotel was unique, next to the river ,with trout swimming nearby and kingfishers flying pass, The lunch was good and reasonably priced ,so we went for the Michelin star dinner ,but was disappointed with the food and price. The hotel itself and rooms looked fantastic ,beautiful position and quiet. worth a try

We had excellent food, sitting in a beautiful location alongside the river on a warm June evening. Nearly everything was very good although my wife's entree which was a deconstructed vegetable tart was lacking in flavour and seasoning but the evening was spoiled by the poor service. There were plenty of staff around and early in the evening they were... More

The food was perfectly pleasant, but just not worth the Michelin star, the price, and the trek out to the little town just for dinner. Staff was friendly, albeit just a smidge awkward. The lovely river view I'd seen on the website wasn't visible in the dark, and I bet lunch with a lighter menu and that view would make... More
