Enticing room (a market back in the days of yore) with really superior food. Filet mignon pork which was out of this world. An outstanding duck dish with mouth watering au gratin potatoes. Incredibly fresh oysters and really tasty local ham. Service could not have been better for our American speaking group. Food allergies were not an issue, all servers... More

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food cooked by the owner/chef and served by his food & wine knowledgeable sons. What more is there to say?

No dislikes. Private parking, English spoken, dinners above par, accommodation quiet and clean and free wifi. Small village atmosphere but convenient for military sites. Price very reasonable.

Hostellerie Saint Martin is located at the heart of the Bessin region, and is close to the 5 disembarkation areas of the Allied Forces in 1944. We arrived in May 2014, coming from Tracy-sur-Mer (close to Arromanches). and found the region returned in a state of serene tranquillity. The same quietness we also experienced at Hostellerie Saint Martin that night.... More

Devine starters of snails in garlic and butter, and for me the house terrine de volaille. The mains were equally delicious - i had the fish of the day - bar grillle and my other half had the steak with camembert sauce, a normandy speciality. So a fairly short menu i.e. Everything is fresh but with a good range. Great... More

I am writing this review from the hotel having just eaten the last evening meal of our stay. This is our second visit and we chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary here. The same family have run the hotel for the last 30 years and they deserve their success. The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished. The restaurant is something... More

Although recently staying in Bayeux, The option of coming back to the Hostellerie Saint Martin, was a no brainer. We arrived, a party of 6 with out a booking, but quickly were seated scanning the menu for cullinary delights..again not dissappointed. The service and attention to detail was again a delight.I have no doubt that a third visit is just waiting... have eaten here several times now. It's historic as the place when General Montgomerie took breakfast each day while directing the Normandy campaign from the nearby Chateau. Gat family staff, fine menu, good advice and prompt, speedy service. Over ten years of travelling around the Calvados region this establishment has provided consistent quality. Impressive! D50
