Food, wine, luxury accommodation and a genuine welcome await. Just one hour from Adelaide and set atop a gentle hill, Appellation at The Louise is highly regarded as one of Australia's finest restaurants led by chef Ryan Edwards. With a passion for real, fresh local ingredients, Ryan and his team are guided by the rhythms of the seasons - harvesting from their kitchen garden, baking their own breads, butchering and curing their own meats - and see wine and food as the most natural of partners. A four course seasonal menu is available nightly, except on a Tuesday when it's Local's Night where our chefs choose your three course set menu. An award-winning wine list of over 400 listings celebrating local artisans, emerging stars and established masters offers much choice to guests. Surrounded by vineyards in a truly memorable setting, Appellation is a dining destination worthy of a detour. Appellation is co-located with The Louise luxury vineyard retreat.

Amazing chef

The best fine dining with the freshest local produce. 4 course dinner with matching wines chosen by onsite sommelier was very special.

We had a great dining experience, taking the fixed 4-course dinner with accompanying wines. Each of the courses was well-designed and perfectly executed, with a wonderful set of matching wines. Very relaxed, professional service. At 120 AUD (+ 60) for wines, the price is very reasonable for this level of cuisine.

Pricey, but worth it. Lovely place with excellent sunset view. Wonderful imaginative food, knowledgeable staff. New Years Eve prix fix with wine pairing was terrific. Dinner another night was excellent

We decided to drive up to the Barossa for our last evening (a Sunday) in Adelaide hoping to find a nice restaurant and were we pleasantly surprised. We found Appellation on tripadvisor and called for a reservation a few hours prior. The lady who answered the phone was an absolute pleasure to deal with, she was incredibly friendly and set... Where does one start? We were met at the door and offered pre-dinner drinks either inside or out on the patio. We chose the latter with sweeping views over the Barossa Valley across a lawn where magpies fossicked for food on the lawn and the Chef gathered herbs from the garden. So comfortable that you were reluctant to move when... More

Only one option offerd to us: AUD$120 (in January, 2016) for 4 course meal. You can have an optional wine pairing: AUD$60 for 1 glass with each course. Extensive local and international wine list. I was impressed by the selection of local hard to get wines. For example, they had a whole page of Henschke; some of which are hard... More

Absolutely fantastic! We travelled around Australia for 3 weeks and this was by a mile the highlight of our dining experience! Incredibly tempting 4 course menu where one selects 1 course from each category... all of us (6) had difficulties selecting because it all looked so good! Every single dish was spot on and the wine we had with it... More

We enjoyed the set course menu here for NYE 2015/16, which was also our anniversary. Service was impeccable; great communication from the team prior to arrival and subtle, attentive and enthusiastic service throughout the meal. Recommendations from the sommelier were greatly appreciated. However i would say the menu lacked creative flair on our visit; at $170 per head I was... More

Fantastic restaurant. From the moment you have a pre dinner drink outside and watch a spectacular sunset know the food and wine will be amazing. Showcases the fresh produce of the Barossa Valley.
