Our anniversary fell on a Tuesday and as we wanted to try this restaurant decided to go on Locals Night. Prices on this night are $55 per head and basically it's chef's choice. You can let the restaurant know of dietary requirement however. We were very pleased with the selection and quality of the food. My husband and I were... More

My husband took me here for our anniversary while we were in the Barossa. We chose to have the tasting menu, which was delicious however the last few savoury courses were a little rich and I found that I had to stop (and save room for dessert). The staff were friendly but the service was a little slow, perhaps owing... More

Tuesday night is "local's night", $55 for a surprise 3-course tasting menu. You can't pick your dishes, but you can guide them away from allergies or other serious dislikes, and the staff is expert at choosing wines to match. We were served the most tender venison I've ever eaten, with no trace of the gaminess normally associated with venison. It... More

My partner and I were lucky enough to dine at Appellation during “locals night” which was such a lovely experience. On Tuesdays you pay $55 and get three courses that are “chef’s choice.” They ask about food allergies or dietary restrictions in advance, but from then on you are surprised at each course! It’s really a fantastic idea and we... More

We went to Appellation for my wife's bday. When we made the booking I told them that we had two people who had seafood allergies. They end up making up a degustation menu for us which didn't have seafood, just in case we all wanted to do that. Which was pretty thoughtful. We end up having just the two courses.... More

In my heart I really wanted to give this restaurant 5-stars. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the sommelier won our hearts with his knowledge about the region and the wines. Appellation has all the ingredients that you’d think make up the perfect fine dining experience. Now, I’m no stranger to fine dining… I’ve been to my... More

Came for my mother in law's 50th birthday. High expectations. Fellow chefs having these high expectations. One course was up to a fine dining standard; dessert was great. We had the strawberry dessert, chocolate one and the lavender and lemon curd one. These brought a close to a very disappointing night. Each other meal had NO wow factor. Presentation was... More

My husband and I stayed at The Louise, where this restaurant is located, for 3 nights over Christmas. We had heard excellent reviews and were very much looking forward to dinner on Christmas night. This was also our first visit to Australia. Although the food was lovely and the staff very attentive, the restaurant lacked any atmosphere, and there was... More

Our first dining experience in the Barossa, what a treat! Enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu with matched wines. Very enjoyable and service was outstanding.
