This restaurant came highly recommended and our visit was very disappointing. The staff didn't seem to be very friendly and although the service was OK. We waited 1 hour for our entree and noticed people being served who had order after us. The size of the meals don't justify the price being charged. We ordered a glass of whistler rose... More

Apart from service and wine, the food is a fail.. From sourdough.. Doughy and undercooked, the duck, the twice cooked pork belly.. Fatty and sinewy.. There was three pieces.. And I extracted what I could.., the lamb was the only dish cooked to perfection. Sorry, I do have high expectations after all the accolades. The waitress did ask how's the... More

The entrance was great and we were met at the door by staff and then showed to our table. The owner introduced himself and thanked us for dinning at his restaurant. The wine pairing was nearly less than the wine tastings we had had during the day. I'd save the money and not bother if I was to do it... More

The dining room is a bit bland, but that's the end of the criticism. There is a degustation, but we ate a la carte. I began with a delicious, seared tuna with quails eggs followed by Hay Vale Lamb cooked three ways and very special dish it was. We drank 2006 Corton Charlemagne (sensational) and a lovely '03 Jaboulet Hermitage... More

We had the option of a degustation menu (prepared in accordance with dietary restrictions requested at booking) or the a la carte menu, both with or without matching wines. We opted for the a la carte menu with matching wines and were not disappointed. The food was simply excellent in its presentation, taste and flavour & texture combinations. It looked... More

Was taken here for a surprise birthday dinner. It was amazing. We were greeted promptly, and seated. The feel is modern but comfortable and not pretentious. The staff were wonderful, attentive, polite and helpful. The menu had many delicious options. We got 3 small plates each and a dessert to share - and we were both very satisfied. Given it... More

We had a private room for a group of 8. The menu was fixed, and we had matching wines provided by a very laid back, but very knowledgable sommelier. The owner also drifted in twice for a chat, glass of wine in hand. The food was excellent, as were the wines. One of our party doesn't drink red wine so... More

I dined here with 3 other people one evening whilst we were staying at The Louise. We had been informed that Appellation was one of the best in the Barossa so we were keen to try it. On arrival, it looked as though a lot of guests there were well known to the restaurant so seemed to be enjoying themselves... More

After reading the rave reviews about this restaurant, my partner and I were very much looking forward to eating here. We went with the set degustation menu, and while our meals were very nice, our experience was that they were nothing more than that. Pleasant staff and setting, and good wine.
