ricky the chef is worth the visit since he is the most friendly chef in costa rica and the place is really rustic and old costa rica like it was 35 years ago before fast food came here and food is excellent and big plates for cheap prices

Everything is coated in coconut taste, but it's not overwhelming - so if you don't like coconut, don't come here. I love coconut, so I loved everything. From the salad to the gallo pinto, this place kills it when it comes to traditional caribbean fare. Not too pricey, but in a fairly random location for tourists - it's definitely a... More

This restaurant brings a good sample of what you can find in its amazing counterpart in the Caribbean coast. The vibe and the food are spot on, though the menu is smaller. The quality and service are excellent.

Ricky's original spot is legendary. The rondon, the full snapper with patacones, the "rice and beans"...tastes and scents of fresh coconut and panama peppers…this was a reason to go al the way to Manzanillo, south of Puerto Viejo. The Santa Ana location is in a cool and authentic wooden house with a loot of greenery around. Maxi’s could be great,... More

The food, the drinks, the place, the service eeeverything about this place is just like the Maxis in Manzanillo; EXCELLENT. The only thing missing is the beach. Great place to go with friends for lunch or dinner. Fish is always fresh and very tasty. the fried plantain filled with beans and meat is very good, and you get delicious chocolates... More

The place is an open air space off the road. It was pleasant to see outdoors on the veranda and hear raindrops on the vegetation. I would not call this a "restaurant" though - café or canteen would be better description. By all means if you tired of eating in the "formal" restaurants, this will provide welcome break from airconditioned... More

Describing this place in some words is not enough... you gotta come to feel a piece of the caribbean in Santa Ana, close of everything. Love being here with my family, friends and business meetings... I can't tell you how the food tastes. I love the seafood here and my sister how is vegeterian has no problem with the veggie... More
