My wife and I visited the Vaynol Arms on a Friday night and was presently surprised how good the atmosphere was in the pub, plenty of choice on the menu and solid service - food was quick and tasty - overall a great pub serving great pub food - only critique...on of the waitress dropped chips over my wife's handbag... I tried the Vaynol Arms on Sunday... To be honest the food was not the best the side dish of veg pitiful, the slithers of meat pitiful and the atmosphere was pitiful! There was a family in at the time complaining about rotting food and to be honest i never heard the Manager apologize although might have offered more potatoes... More

Don't go for Sunday lunch unless you want bad food. The triple roast was terrible and the veg selection on a side plate was a joke. The chef can't cook a stake and having 2 button mushrooms on a plate is not enough. Also when u let the owner know the potatoes are rotting, it would of been nice for... More

Good Morning, I am a little disapointed in your review and cannot understand why one eye in a roast potatoe can been seen as rotting? You did call me over to bring it to my attention to which I did apologise for , Check on everyone else meals which the response was fine. I offered all of you some other... More

Typical pub menu, but done well at good value prices. The steak was done perfectly and the beer was good!

Visited the Vaynol Arms as it was recommended by the owners of the holiday cottage we were staying in. We were made to feel extremely welcome and chose a lovely table by the window. The food was delicious and as it was curry night, I had the Chicken Balti which came with rice, onion bhaji, poppadum and mango chutney ...... More

I came here with my DofE Gold group before our expedition. A hearty meal before the challenge begun was just what we needed and close to the site over the road. Amazing food at a great price. Real ambience and I shall certainly be back there for some walking weekends when I move to Wales for Uni in September.
