Christmas meal at the Vaynol

Excellent Christmas food for a group of colleagues. Great quality food not compromised by the Christmas rush or number of diners. Friendly staff.

I visited the Vaynol Arms, Pentir, Gwynedd on Feb 14th 2015. The late review is due to just joining trip advisor, and because my abominable experience has been imbedded in my mind. My husband and I visited for a Valentines meal and ordered the steak and Honey-glazed roasted pork belly dishes (off the main menu option, not the valentines specials).... More

As we have already responded to this comment last week to which you have not contacted us either by phone or personally called in. Also which you have removed and now put on another version.! It is obvious that for some reason you are trying your best to put our business in a bad light. To answer a few points... More

I was told that this place had very good food so I decided to give it a try.Went there for lunch and had liver and onions which was on the blackboard special. It came very quick but it was terrible..thought at the time, they couldn't have cooked this fresh that quick, it had been frozen as the liver just disintegrated... More

It was another miserable and wet day in North Wales but to us it is still the Best Place to be Called in here today for a bite to eat. Very Relaxed atmosphere and Nicely Decorated for Christmas. This is a Great Old fashioned Pub with plenty of seating Very Friendly and we even treated to a bit of Cymraeg... More

Our family booked the Vaynol Arms for our recent post-funeral refreshments. We were given a wide choice of buffet menus from which to choose, all very reasonably priced. The chosen buffet was well presented and prepared and of generous quantity. Karen and her team were discretely attentive and topped up the food to ensure everyone had plenty to eat. The... More

Smashing little pub with a good selection of beer. Lots of pub classics on the menu but with a few modern twist ideas to keep it interesting and fresh. Situated just across across the road from a great B&B.

We went here as a family of 5. We were staying at the Travelodge Bangor and the receptionist recommended The Vaynol Arms. We were made very welcome and the staff could not do enough for us. The food was lovely.

I had booked a room in the Plas Tirion Guest house across the road so I stumbled upon this gem really! I had the Liver and Onions for my evening meal that night and it took me back to being a child and my mums home made cooking! This was an outstanding culinary experience and fantastic value for money. The... More

Fortunately we had a designated driver to get from Ogwen Valley to The Vaynol and all enjoyed a hearty meal with some great real ales. Local taxi driver Alan is very reasonable if you can't drive to Pentir to give the Vaynol a try.
