Lovely homely, old fashioned pub. Food always great. Service sometimes a little abrupt but the good food makes up for it!

Visiting family locally and he recommended we visited. Great food, warm welcome and hearty food. Large portions but good pub grub. Chocolate cake was delicious for pudding!!

We also stayed at the travelodge and they pointed us in the direction of this pub. This is by no stretch of the imagination a cheap or even reasonably priced place to eat. Don't know about others but I don't class £15 for a 8oz steak 'cheap'. Where I come from (north east) we'd expect to pay about £8 for... More

We stayed in the travel lodge and asked if thee where any nice places to eat local. We got told to go here. We were greeted by a chap behind the bar and was shown through to our table. Looking at the menu there is plenty of options and a specials board to choice from. Kids ordered gammon and eggs... More

We have visited this pub for the alst two years during holidays in North Wales. On both occasions the food and the service were excellent -- very good quality pub food at a reasonable price.

The food was okay but the service was diabolical. We took the whole family out for a special birthday meal, our drinks were twice left on the side for ages after being poured until we twice had to go and fetch them ourselves, the peppercorn sauce which was meant to be served with the steak came about ten mins after... Visited on Wednesday 17th September for dinner. We were staying down the road at Travelodge and wanted something better for our evening meal. After reading the other reviews we decided to visit. The atmosphere and service was great. Meals were ok pity they microwaved the vegetables instead of using fresh as on the menu.

We didn't have reservations on this busy night but they managed to accommodate us which was great. Food was above average pub fare - everything was hot and nicley presented. Service was excellent and the young waitress who attended to our table was very cheerful and efficient

Traditional pub serving good food and drink. Friendly and helpful staff and lovely athmosphere. Stake and kidney pudding, what can I say, delecious. We enjoyed it so much ate there the next evening and stayed for the quiz night, met some locals and travellers and spent a very pleasant evening. Well worth popping into.
