Good Food, Wine & Golf

We've been here a few times and ways enjoyed ourselves. Love the views and even tried our hand at a hole in one for a bit of fun. Good for families and couples. Very friendly cellar staff. Very close to Stanley Bridge Tavern.

Staying in the Adelaide Hills to celebrate 32yrs married we pondered over many establishments and recommendations we received in the few days leading up to our special day. We decided on Maximilia's for lunch, and what a great choice it was! Firstly we arrived technically at the end of luncheon service hours but David our waiter told us that as... More

Could not fault! Table service was very professional! Fantastic knowledge of menu and well priced! An accomodating wine list for every palate! Time was not pushed so wine tasting and an attempt to get that hole in one could be enjoyed between entree mains and dessert! The outdoor deck during the afternoon was a great place after lunch to enjoy... More

We have been dining at Maximilian's for years. Unfortunately our last experience there was not so great. Upon arriving it was very quiet- something it never used to be on a Friday night. We were seated at began by ordering drinks (which the waitress took ages to bring to us and then messed them up). The menu seemed quite small... More

Ate here recently (on a Friday night) and must say that the restaurant has a pleasant welcoming vibe. The staff and service was absolutely first class, but I wasn't so impressed with the food. We chose the tasting menu which included the Cauliflower soup, Pork Cheek, Fish Croquettes, Duck Liver parfait, Confit chicken and the famous Chateaubriand There was a generous... More

The 6 course degustation menu ($95 pp)was a real treat with superb flavours, on a Friday night the 3 hour dining experience was amazing.

All of our food was amazing and a really nice view on a sunny arvo. Our only complaint was the service was a bit slow but not too bad. Highly recommend for a beautiful lunch.

we were seated in a wonderful new enclosed verandah area with a wonderful celebratory Christmas atmosphere for families. The renovations and the new chef have see the restaurant improve so much. The lake, the vineyard and the quirky golf make it very special.

After reading other reviews here I decided to book my wife and I for dinner. I think this quote from her at the end of the evening sums it up nicely: "You're going to have to do something pretty special next year to top that!" The night was rainy and when we arrived we found that we were the only... More

Since my last visit the outdoor entertaining area has expanded and modernised. This enables the top class restaurant to be kept away from the cellar door area. It is a great winery especially for groups to be enjoy the area and views and wine of course.
