9 of us ventured up to Verdun to Maximilians for Sunday lunch. We were seated in the Pro Hart room which was lovely and private room with an open fire and offered sweeping views over the vineyard. The meals and prices were generally very good and the wine selection was great. I had an entree of pork belly, tender and... More

We booked this restaurant and attended for lunch as we were having a lovely time for 3 days in the Barossa. The waitress was very nice. However we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our main meal. Yes we were enjoying our wine and chatting but really how long does it take. We didn't have entrees. After asking them... More

We have enjoyed Maximillian's 'new' hospitality 3 times now and each time it has been a triumph. We, all 19 of us with varied and very discerning palates, wanted to thank you so much for such a lovely evening; the food was exquisite and the service friendly and professional. It was a cold, wet and windy night but this was... More

For main I had the duck which was actually amazing... More

We were told about this place by a nearby vintner whose own eatery was closed on a public holiday. It was a bitter day, and we were warmly accommodated without a reservation - literally! Seated by one of several open fires, we were treated to a wonderful version of Cauliflower soup, followed by the best shiraz and beef pie (pastry... More

Have been going to Max'x since 1992 and I've seen it's great days. Going back to having Max doing handstands on the Chairs & Sharing glasses of "Old Bastord" wine with the "Old Bastord" (MAX). When Max left the restaurant seemed to be lost for a while - trying to stay with a menu that had stopped in time and... More
