Maentwrog is one of the most beautiful places i've been to and I've been using this pub/restaurant on and off for twenty years until a couple of years ago the food was that poor we stopped going. I happened to see that it had changed hands again and decided to try it again. We booked a table the day before... More

We had dinner here last Sunday night. Although the food was hit and miss, the service def made up for it. I ordered the chicken Korma which was really nice and tender. My friend ordered the pork ribs which were lovely, but unfortunately the salad came with grit. The Manager dealt with this really well and gave her a new... More

Love this pub! Good real ales, reasonable wine by the glass and really great staff behind the bar who always make you feel welcome! Have seen Managers come and go and chefs come and go so food has always been in inconsistent. A few of us ate here recently. The gammon was nice with great homemade chips and lovely side... More

My husband and I recently stayed locally, we ate here on the Friday night and came back for drinks on the Saturday. Mostly the food was ok, not brilliant but reasonable pub fare, my husband however had a fish dish from the specials board which he said was excellent so all in all not a bad meal. We came back... We had an impromptu meal at The Grapes and it hit the spot. We had nicely presented and cooked food that was tasty. The homemade burger I chose was exceptional as were the rib and chicken dish that our friends had. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This pub has had it's ups and downs with several different managers over... More

Went on a Sunday evening in February and it was fairly quiet. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Plenty of choice on the menu and prices very reasonable. £10 for 1 course, £14 for 2 and £18 for 3. The staff were very welcoming and service was excellent. We'll be back.

Last minute travel plans prompted a stop here on the way to Porthmadog. I have found memories of this place as a child & they weren't spoilt. There was a mixture of locals and tourist. For a January evening it was quite busy. Really helpful friendly staff, particularly the waiter that assisted with wifi as well as food and drinks.... More

we ate here recently and the food was fantastic! couldn't fault it at all. the service was excellent after our starter we were informed they had an issue with the gas in the kitchen and our mains would be delayed. it wasn't a problem as we were busy talking but we were offered free drinks while we waited which was...
