Superb quality food. 3 courses at luchtime for 18 euros. Excellent atmosphere. Really highquality red wine served but at 8 euros per glass which almost doubled our bill..

Went on a recommendation. Cheap ingredients not very well cooked. Egg and tomato starter was simple but tasty. Turkey had gristle, was tough and sauce bland. Dessert was strawberries, with ice cream and a spent vanilla pod. Over €60 euros with no wine as both of us were driving. Smelly glasses and not very clean tableware together with terribly fussy... Since its opening in 2011 we have been regular customers on our frequent visits to our house nearby. It has always been very good but the lunch last Friday was superb - and only 18 euros. The menu at 31 euros offers a choice of two dishes for each course and is equally good value; menus can be seen on... More

For some reason, despite having a holiday home only a few kilometres away, I have never eaten at this restaurant. That was a big mistake. I ate here, together with a friend, and had a wonderful meal. Being a Wednesday evening the restaurant was by no means busy, but still there was a very nice atmosphere. The service was very... More

We eat here on New Years Day & had a fabulous 6 course meal. Every course tasted as great as the last. Everything is made with care & passion. Madame Milan is front of house & very friendly, helping us with the menu (as my French is awful) & Monsieur Milan is the chef, they make a great team. Both... More

This little patch of France isn't blessed with much culinary choice, and La Quincaillerie offers some fine dining relief from the endless offerings of duck magret and fried potatoes in the area. The restaurant is found in the middle of sleepy Montendre, a town forgotten a century ago. It is run by a lovely couple, with Madame at front of... More

2nd visit here. we are vegetarians and have been here with non vegetarians. not only is the food extraordinarily "clean" but it is imaginative and the attention to detail is excellent as are the little extras - the gourmandises that make it special. the chef's wife is almost vegetarian and one of the chef's best friends is vegan, so -... We had heard many recommendations whilst staying in Chatenet at the brilliant Chez Frankie gite. On arrival for lunch we were shown upstairs to a table in the galleried old hardware store and the menu was described to us by a friendly and personable waiter. We watched the chef and his team prepare the 3 course meal, which was cooked... More

Menu was very limited but all of it was amazing! My wife and I can only speak very limited pigeon French so difficult to communicate but it was very friendly.... Would go back without a doubt as we were told the menu changes daily.
