This review relates to a visit in April 2013. I've known this pub/restaurant for over 30 years and it has always been well above the average in most respects. Imagine then my anticipation at a return visit to find it even better than before. I took my wife, two sons and mother-in-law and the staff were not only friendly but,... More

Came here for a snack pub lunch after a lovely scenic walk with rolling hills, reservoir and beautiful views. Pleasantly surprised by a great sandwich menu - had the home cured pastrami on sourdough. Perfectly delicious. Great beers too. Will come back to try the restaurant, but can highly recommend the pub, service and food.

This place is a gem! A gastro pub/hotel. The food was fabulous the rooms delightful and all the staff were very friendly efficient and Proffessional. It's tucked away in a small village and I can highly recommend it. From this country retreat we visited Ely Cathedral, Rutland water, Stamford, Rockingham castle and on the way home Cambridge and had a... More

Came here again !! This time celebrating my sisters birthday. A treat it was. A fairly small menu however everything cooked to perfection Couple of nice bottles of Prosecco and a very smooth montepulciano. A very enjoyable evening

Booked here for Sunday lunch with brother and sister-in-law having seen good reviews. Must say that we were left unimpressed by our experience. The restaurant was not busy but there appeared to be a wedding reception in another area so waiting staff seemed to be distracted. The result was that we didnt get the service that we felt we needed... More

Visited the marquess of Exeter on the 5th of May (bank Holiday Monday) and they went to great lengths to accomodate me, my wife, our son and grand daughter even though it was a very busy holiday period. The food was excellent and the friendly efficient staff mde us feel very welcome. Thanks to you all

After viewing their impressive website and reading some good reviews, we booked for a family Sunday lunch (all adults). Located in really pretty village and no complaints about décor etc. However on arrival we were told they had run out of meat for the traditional sunday lunch and was offered Moroccan lamb with Yorkshire puddings as an alternative. Waiter took... More

Popped in for lunch as we were passing by, never been before. We went for the lunch for less deal and it was fantastic. 3 courses for less than £20. Thai beef salad was delicious! Service was quick, atmosphere was relaxed and will definitely go back. Thanks!

Broke my journey today to visit the Lyddington Bede and have lunch. Had The choice of two pubs and was recommended this one. Excellent choice. I had the BLT which came with a good helpings of fries and coleslaw. I had the choice of fries or hand cut chips so chose the former. The service was very good and a... More
