Pleasant lunch

DH enjoyed the moussaka. My grilled sea bass was cooked perfectly and I worked hard to get all the flesh off the bones through I didn't eat the dry coleslaw and cooked broccoli which accompanied it. We ordered baklava to share with tea and a cappuccino. It was a pleasant lunch.

We went here on our first night in Pyrgos. It is conveniently in the tiny square and looked busy. Beautiful view and friendly service. Value for money. Not the best food we have ever had but pleasant enough. There are others in Pyrgos which are definitely much better but equally some a lot worse.

If it wasn't for the placement of this taverna then I don't think we would have gone. We stood there for a good 5 minutes before anyone came out to greet us/seat us. I felt the waiter to be quite patronising, and tried to throw a few digs at my other half as well. The food was okay, pretty average... More

Amongst the best food on our 4 week trip...decided to take a break from the sea food platters and we had the eggplant special for entree and then the slow cooked lamb...divine.

Being vegetarian we are apprehensive about walking into a restaurant without reading reviews or at least giving the menu a thorough look through. However we made an exception for this one - it felt welcoming and we were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome and had some amazing food. The veg menu is limited - if you exclude the... Winter and early at midday only one restaurant was open to us. The owner opened for us and what a great surprise when we discovered this place. The owner took the time to explain all the recipes, typical delicious Santorini delicacies, and he lit a fire in the fireplace. The cuisine was of course excellent for a very affordable price... Was welcomed warmly and three of us ordered the moussaka, a greek salad, prawns & mussels - the food was top notch & the moussaka was the best I've ever eaten - this is saying something as I'm greek and have eaten it many times - it's even better than my mums! The meat & sauce in the dish were... More

my family and I ate there a couple of times while staying in Pyrgos. It is a no-thrill but solid eatery with tasty and unpretentious local fare at a fraction of the price you will pay in Oia or Thira. As too often in Santorini, the sea food is frozen but they don't try to sell it for fresh stuff... More

I have no idea where those people who wrote the recent horrible reviews ate, but it strains credibility to think it was here. We had a perfectly nice lunch here late in the afternoon on 9/26. The man who waited on us was very nice and helpful, and his rudimentary English was way better than my Greek. The service was... More
