'Selene' restaurant was established in 1986 in Fira, Santorini by Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis. Our aim was from the very start, to show and promote the local products along with the local cuisine hoping that this will enable us to transmit to our guests a taste of the island's culture. The success that we have had all those years not only within Greece but also worldwide, has encouraged us to continue with cooking lessons, catering for weddings and conferences and various gastronomical events. Since 2010 'Selene' restaurant has moved location from Fira to Pyrgos. Pyrgos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved villages of Santorini built around a medieval castle located in one of the highest points of the island offering magnificent views. What is mostly important for us however is that Pyrgos village, and the restaurant's location especially, lies next to the famous vineyards and the valuable farmland of Santorini.

From the wine to the garnish that decorates each imaginative dish, more likely or not the ingredient came from just a few miles of Selene's on the island of Santorini. The owners and management are so committed to Santorini food they created a museum within the complex that houses their two restaurants. Food & wine classes are offered. Reservations are... More

I had heard a lot about Selene but due to past experiences with highly rated restaurants was worried that it might be a let down. But this place lived up to its name. The wife and me and a lovely romantic dinner here. The staff was very helpful with wine and food suggestions. The taste, the presentation and the service... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel so decided we would book in one evening. We were welcomed into the restaurant and knew by our welcome that we were going to be looked after. The restaurant wasn't that busy being just out of season but I am confident that even when busy you would get the same service from... More

This place is divine! Beautiful room (we were seated outside but had to come in when the wind picked up), great art, and the food is pure art. I had the reconstructed Greek salad that was gorgeous and delicious. My sea bass was cooked perfectly and my husbands Aegean codfish with sea urchin risotto was incredible! Absolutely amazing what they... More

It was my second visit to Selena and I am glad to report that the food is still outstanding food and very welcoming staff. Knowledgable too. Fantastic creative cocktails and wine list. Do bring a jacket (or dress conservatively!) as the terrace is windy, and can really get quite chilly.

We loved all the traditional greek food and it's abundant so it was a welcome treat to try greek food with a trending twist. It was excellent and my favor greek meal along with Metaxi Mas during a 14 day trip.

We had one of our best meals of our Europe trip here. It is fine dining with excellent matched wines to go. The presentation of the food is world class and service impeccable. We ordered the rooster which is highly recommended and sea bass, which was also beautifully cooked. All local ingredients and wines but made to the next level.... More
