Description: 'Selene' restaurant was established in 1986 in Fira, Santorini by Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis. Our aim was from the very start, to show and promote the local products along with the local cuisine hoping that this will enable us to transmit to our guests a taste of the island's culture. The success that we have had all those years not only within Greece but also worldwide, has encouraged us to continue with cooking lessons, catering for weddings and conferences and various gastronomical events. Since 2010 'Selene' restaurant has moved location from Fira to Pyrgos. Pyrgos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved villages of Santorini built around a medieval castle located in one of the highest points of the island offering magnificent views. What is mostly important for us however is that Pyrgos village, and the restaurant's location especially, lies next to the famous vineyards and the valuable farmland of Santorini.

We had a wonderful four hour cooking class at Selene, a Michelin star restaurant in Santorini. The manager of the restaurant spent over two hours talking to us and letting us taste local foods and wine, then we cooked with the restaurant chefs for an hour, then had a wonderful lunch. So fun and we learned so much too. Everyone... More

I appreciated this restaurant being in another town away (30mins) from the main town. It was nice to have a break from the crowds. We read that this was a fine dining restaurant so we expected to pay quite en expensive amount. the food itself was good. the portions, of course, were small but that is also expected. we were... We decided to go to Santorini to celebrate our honeymoon and were looking for nice romantic restaurant to have dinnner in. My wife and I came here because a blogger (http://www.styleat30.com/selene-santorini-greece/) had some pretty nice pictures of the place. I'd like to give credit to the blogger for her recommendation as we had an amazing time. The food was very... More

We had lunch here, and can easily say it was probably the best meal in Santorini. Simple and fresh without being overly fussy. The salad tasted as though the ingredients were just picked out of the garden that day. ( and probably was). So fresh and tasty. The fennel pie was deliciously flaky and flavorful. The service was attentive and... More

Selene was our first dinner in Santorini and my dining companion and I had a wonderful experience. We were seated outside, just after sunset, which made for a picturesque scene to dine by. The restaurant is near the top of a hill with broad views across the island. The weather was chilly and breezy, but the staff provided a wrap... More

I even bought olive oil since it was so good. We had lunch here. It was not easy to find but it was worth it. Everything was very fresh. The price was not cheap but it's worth the price. We had a talk with one of the chefs in Santorini, which was a nice conversation to talk about food, cooking... More

We came across this restaurant when we escaped the beach and were tired of the touristy restaurants. We ate downstairs for lunch. Perfect memorable meal. Service was superb, prices great and delicious. Fresh ingredients for a perfect meal. Highly highly recommend!

Everything about this restaurant was great. When I first glanced at the menu I wasn't sure I could find something I was dying to try. So wrong! I had the hens nest appetizer and split fresh sea bass with my husband, who had the snail appetizer. All had foams which were to die for! Dessert was a frozen lime, hollowed... More

We ate in the fine dining section. We found the food presentation great, and the flavor average. They did a good job explaining each dish. However, the service was very slow. They also didn't seem to like the bill splitting, and informed us quite strongly that the "service" amount was not included. We couldn't read the Greek visa machine, and... More

Probably the best restaurant in Santorini, but I guess cause we've been eating at the meze&wine one ("cheapest" version of Selene), not in the "real" Selene (upstairs): that one is only for germans and asians wallets :) The service is outstanding but not too rigid. Real local ingredients (finally after hundreds of fake taverns in Greece..), and someone in the... More
