Good all round

We use the Tally Ho for office lunches all the time an the staff are always friendly and the food is always yummy. I have also been with the family on the weekend and this sometimes can be a little up and down depending on the time of your reservation. Its fab for lunch on a summers day

In December 2014, I wrote a review of the restaurant after having dinner there with friends. Unfortunately, the evening was disappointing and I left some comments here. Immediately, I was contacted by Ollie the manager, who took the time and interest to listen to my observations. He was extremely apologetic and it was quite obvious that he really took on... More

Went to the Talley ho the other week and I thought the actual place really beautiful and welcoming we went to a nice table. But the service was slow to take our drink order and our food, but the food was beautiful. Would go again if the service was a bit better.

My partner and I had dinner at this lovely country pub yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. We don't normally write reviews but were taken aback by the quality of food especially on offer. My partner had the hash that looked very good and I opted for the venison which I must say looked stunning and tasted it as well.... More

We have eaten at this pub before and like that it serves food all day as not many do in this area. I ordered kedgeree which at my ripe old age was a first!!! and I'm very glad I did as it was absolutely delicious. My husband had haddock and chips with crisp batter and lovely chips and we found... We started off with a couple of starters which were on the small side especially the olives which were nice but would of gone down better if there were more.Other starter was small, what i object to is you get peoples backs up when you are on the tight side and you are charging plenty of money.I am a chef myself... I’d had a good meal here with friends on Christmas Eve so decided to treat my boyfriend to Sunday lunch. We both ordered roasts. He described his beef as ‘chewy’ – I tried it. It was. My chicken was fine, but I was surprised to see that the veg was simply a spoonful of cabbage and leek. I thought they... More

This was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was almost empty, however the service was good and the food was very well cooked and presented. Four of us went Steaks were cooked as requested and tender. the fish and chips, and Pollock with chowder were excellent, wine also good and value for money. Prices were also reasonable will return again.

This pub is nicely positioned and the interior is very smart. Stopped on the spur of the moment for a pub lunch and the service was good but considering it is charging restaurant prices (ie ham, egg and chips at £10.95) it needs to pay a bit more attention to detail. My wife ordered a steak sandwich (£9.95) and the... More

We had our first date night at the Tally Ho last night, and had a brilliant night. I had been last week for a friends birthday lunch, and decided to go back for dinner. The menu was perfect for us, right amount of choice, and a good range too. Everything from burgers, steak and fish and chips, to something a... More
