Pleasant place with friendly staff but the food was only OK and was expensive, as were the drinks. Also my cutlery was dirty. If you are in this area and want to eat, a better bet is the Sir John Barleycorn only about two hundred yards away.

I had 2 fish cakes & some garnish which was £10.95 incredibly overpriced tasted horrendous & found many fish bones in there which got stuck in my throat, after I explained my disappointment to the waiter she replied "that's not good is it" then walked off, not to mention the amount of time we had to wait to be served... Great menu choices, great food, great service, attentive without being overly so staff. All in all had a lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend.

Me and my wife went there by accident but came back for another dinner. Service was great, friendly and smiling and very good food. A good place for families or dinner with friends far from being the typical pub with people drinking to forget about their miserable lives. New décor and good choice of wines.

Visited this lunchtime same date as the previous review. Firstly, I will agree that the service was a little slow, however the staff were so polite and friendly. Makes a change from other places! One can always flag down a waitress if so inclined. The place itself has been tastefully renovated and both outside an inside are welcoming. Moving on... More

There is a sign outside the entrance saying that if ordering food from inside, take menus from the bar and wait to be waited upon. We asked for a table for four after having ordered drinks and were given the choice of any table of our choice. We had all sat down and we must have waited around twenty to... More

We stopped here for a bite to eat on our stay in the new forest and as we have young children we were drawn by the lovely looking outdoor area. There was a really nice beer garden with a great play area for the kids and ample seating. The staff were polite and served us with a smile. The landlord... More

We decided to book The White Hart for myself and 6 friends for my hen do whilst staying in The New Forest for the weekend. Table was booked for 8.30pm, so we sat out in the front on the benches to enjoy drinks and play party games (so as not to disturb those within the pub, not wanting to hear... More

Came here with family having read all the raving reviews. Very disappointed at the poor quality and tasteless food... Braised lamb ended up being a tough lamb shank, and prawn pasta dish at £11 only filled half the plate with 4 prawns which I found disappointing and would have been much tastier and better value at Zizzi's. This meal was... More

Nipped in to try this place out since it has been refurbished. Pub is pleasant with considerable patio and garden space. Toilets very nice! Lunch food menu for lighter appetites was a bit limited, the food was very nice though but expensive for what it was £6/7 for a slice of grilled sourdough with avocado is a bit hefty!
