Just back from an excellent meal....quite busy for a Sunday night and lots of very well behaved children in. All the food is well priced, served freshly cooked, on hot plates and the quality was excellent. The baked mushrooms with stilton were especially good. The Pork tenderloin Wellington was superb and the the quantity was generous . Lovely young student... More

I have enjoyed The Falcon on three separate occasions while visiting the UK and would drive miles for the food, atmosphere, and service. An absolute gem very well worth a stop.

A tastefully modernised village pub, which serves excellent food. The menu has the usual bar food staples, plus a daily specials board, and a slightly more upmarket main menu including wood pigeon, venison steaks, and thick chips cooked in goose fat. Everything is cooked to order, so expect a slight wait, but believe me - it's worth it! The bar... More

My husband and I went for a hike from nearby Tylney Hall and were delighted to find this pub to stop, warm and fuel up. The service and food were both fantastic. Large working hearth and great photos of the history of the pub. Everything is locally sourced, unpretentious and freshly prepared. It was far above the average pub fare.... More

Found this place by accident whilst driving around looking for somewhere. The food and beer is very good and not badly priced for a gastro pub type place.

If you enjoy good food, this is a pub that is definitely worth a visit. I first visited after the change of ownership with a cycling group, when basic pub fare was what we required - basic in terms of sandwiches and soup, but the quality was there, and it was no problem to bring out more of the excellent... I went for lunch today at my daughters suggestion. The atmosphere was warm and friendly from the moment we entered. Hunter stove surrounded by a couple of leather sofas. The menu is very impressive and almost fine dining. I chose duo of Pigeon and Pheasant breasts with beans atop dauphinois potatoes. My daughter chose the loin of pork which also... More

I needed a small private function in my house to celebrate my wife's birthday. Lee and his staff at the Falcon were recommended to me by a friend. There were some very specific requirements such as timing and the all the food needed to be gluten free. Well the result was outstanding they arrived with all the kit early in... More

traditional inside and out, not over modernised. We met friends there for lunch on Saturday and were amazed at how quiet it was. Service was fine. There were in effect 2 menus - a standard bar menu and an a la carte lunch menu with plenty of choice and specials. The menu was imaginative. Starters included John Dory and creamed... More
