We visited for Sunday lunch and had excellent meals. The menu coupled with the specials made for a wide choice of dishes. I was particularly impressed with the wild wood pigeon brushed with harissa and served with a home made falafel, quinoa, pomegranate and minted yoghurt. The roast beef was good and the meals all of a generous size. The... More

We stopped here and had a light meal after a short walk. There was plenty of choice on the menu and we sat comfortably in the bay window to eat it. One section has settees and newspapers and there are treats in a jar for dogs. There is even a mini-grand piano. The beer was good and the service was... More

Have eaten here a few times recently. Always good food and service. Friendly host and staff. Sunday lunch today was very nice. Roast beef, cooked perfectly, lovely Yorkshire, roasties and veg. Recommend this and maybe won't be using my oven so much on a Sunday! Just an extra, whilst we were there some cyclists arrived and were offered water kept... More

We popped in for Sunday lunch, a lovely country pub with great decor. Wide variety from the 3 menus we were offered. My wife's beef was excellent and very well prepared, great gravy and well cooked veg too. My steak wrap and home made chips was lovely. The service was very good. Highly recommended.

Lovely meal, pleasant staff, good atmosphere. Really good service and made to feel welcome. Two main meals, two glasses of wine and a lager, all for £30. The quality of the food was exceptional for the price and we will visit again. A really good country pub.

Went to lunch here yesterday for a birthday treat. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Great welcome and very dog friendly (we took our dog along). Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and the food was amazing! Adam the chef (whom we met later) had introduced some new dishes and I had the chicken (think in a sweetcorn velouté... More

Really welcoming staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was very good indeed. I had venison, very tasty and the apple crumble with ice cream was divine. I would recommend this establishment.
