Early evening meal

A table for 2. Reasonable choices, fairly pricey for amount of food served. Adequate for my appetite, not so for my other half. Although that said food was presented well and tasted nice too. We have had a couple of lovely meals here. Service can be slow at peak times but remember that all meals are cooked to order. Perfect country seting for a special occasion.

Visited for Sunday lunch after a few consistently good meals. Arrived late ish for Sunday roast, the pub and restaurant were quiet, plenty off staff but service surprisingly slow. I have found when pubs are quiet the staff start doing 'jobs' and seem to forget about the customers, had to get the attention of someone twice to ask for drinks... More

Went for lunch on Saturday after a busy morning. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I had the fish goujons which were lovely but the chunky chips weren't good. Tasted as though they had been pre cooked and heated up. My partner had the venison burger which he said was great but let down by the cheap supermarket type... More

After driving around the best part of North Hampshire looking for a suitable pub that offered fresh local produce, we happened upon a pub that I had previously visited a few years ago for drinks and hoped the food would be at least acceptable. To our delight The Falcon is no longer your average pub serving average food with mediocre... More

I have been eating at the Falcon regularly for the past two years, the menu is well chosen, portions are good, no hint of the nouvelle nonsense of the more you pay the less you get !!! I think that the quality of locally sourced food is excellent, the stove and sofas on cold evenings are very homely. For lunch... More

I went here for dinner and was delighted. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming - big squishy sofas round a log fire, friendly and interested staff and some of the best food I've had in a pub for a long time. My venison steak was the best I have ever had thick, tender and cooked to perfection. This pub has... More

This pub was tried out before arranging a group visit later in the year. An iteresting, but somewhat limited menu was bettered with the specials. I picked a wood pigeon dish that was intended as a starteer, but the landlord suggested he could increase the size to make a better lunch snack. The dish was not disappointing, but some noodles... Really enjoyed the food here; good variety and quality. Pork tenderloin wellington and rabbit pie were both delish! Only two staff working on a Saturday and was very slow service. A little background music would help create more of an atmosphere.

Visited mothering Sunday in the evening with the whole family. All had a different roast, all amazing large portions all cooked to perfection. Our eldest daughter is vegan and we warned the chef in advanced and he produced a brilliant alternative especially for her. It was perfect, relaxing with good service. Will definitely go again.
