We called in here ravenous after a great bike ride along the promenade from New Brighton. We had sandwiches made with excellent home made, deliciously fresh granary bread, followed by scones and clotted cream. Lashings of cream, beautifully presented, and with perfectly ripe berries and scone was absolutely perfection: light inside and just the right amount of crispness on the... More

Having written the first review for Chantilly its great to write the 100th. Les and Pam (and all the staff) thoroughly deserve all the plaudits they get for their food, cakes, pies etc., atmosphere and warm welcome. I know there's been a few review saying its not a restaurant...and they're right, it is a tearoom par excellence, that serves up... More

I don't normally leave reviews on trip advisor but I felt like I had to after such a lovely morning in Chantilly. We went with the young waitresses recommendations, she couldn't have been more helpful. Her dry sense of humour made our day! We will definitely be returning to Chantilly as there are so many more cakes that we want... More

Had lunch today, with friends, really nice food and excellent service. I had tuna mayo baked potato with salad and home made coleslaw. Then afterwards you had to have a cake, I had toffee cheesecake which was amazing, my friends had black currant bake well and Manchester tart both really enjoyed their deserts. All food is home made but you... More

I have always wanted to try Chantilly...being the top choice in Hoylake on tripadvisor! I was sadly disappointed. The breakfast I had was nice and they had a lovely selection of cakes on offer but I found the young waitress serving us to be a bit rude and disinterested. The chef who came out was lovely but I feel the... More

The comments of the two ladies, below, strongly suggest that their visit coincided with our first visit to the Chantilly. In order to provide some balance, we would have to say that, at no time did we hear or observe any unpleasantness from staff or adverse reactions from customers. This, despite one of the kiddies being a "little" boisterous but... More

I hate recommending Chantilly's - because it just means more people will go and I might not get in. However I felt compelled to respond to a previous reviewer who said it's not 'child friendly'. As a regular I witness a wonderful mix of generations - old and young - but young children are always especially made welcome - hence... More

As I entered one of the staff said can I help you I said I was just using the toilet and my friend was sitting over there. As she obviously thought I was just using facilities. Next when we made an order. when it arrived we asked for some spoons/forks and in... More
