Service should have been better

A typical Vintage Inn with the same menu as the others. Nothing wrong with that. Slow service, even slower to bring the bill. They had run out of Merlot, so upsold to a more expensive wine. How can a pub run out of house Merlot? Unlikely to return, other Vintage Inns are more friendly

Good food but they run out of a lot of choices, very good service even though i t was full of customers. The starter and main meal were cold. In the disabled entrance there were boxes in the way and a chair which seems to be normal practice. I Had to park in the mud and a big van in front... More

This was my first visit to this pub which a family member had booked for a quiet birthday lunch. I thought our waitress was very efficient and I enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was nice. I had a burger and chips which was very tasty. Others in my party had scampi, pies and fish which they all said they enjoyed.... More

Popped in for lunch, nicely decorated, staff friendly, but how can you charge £10 for a frozen piece of fish and frozen chips. The fish was mainly batter. disappointed !

Consistent with the other vintage inns - food average at best, staff do what they have to to provide service rather than be welcoming. Difference here was cleanliness of toilets was poor. Outside looks don't match what happens inside

Nice decor inside but a real disappointment overall. Nothing to really complain about but nothing to really praise. Disinterested staff who were perfunctory at best. The food was OK, husband had sausage and mash. Nice sausages and gravy. Vegetables looked like they were out of a packet and microwaved. The carrots were like little sponges and wrinkly. I had a... Good food with plenty of choices and very good service even though i t was full of customers. I Had to park in the mud which was very awkward for my wheelchair also had make a customer come out and move his car to get to the ramp. I have been driving past this pub for years on my way home from work and never been in. Newly refurbished and it looks pleasant inside however when I arrived I wasn't greeted by anyone, no staff were to be seen and it happened for every group that walked in!! Needs to be addressed. I ordered the spicy southern chicken... More

We decided to try this pub restaurant just before we moved out of the area. It is an attractive, welcoming-looking place and, indeed, on arriving we were greeted with a roaring fire and a lovely warm atmosphere. Unfortunately all the best tables had been taken but as we hadn't booked, we had only ourselves to blame. On looking at the... More
